1500 Pounds would be approximately $3000.

That's about $375/day. If you don't crazy on meals every day you can probably get by on it. NY is very expensive, however if your careful you could do it.

You can easily spend $300 in a restaurant in NYC. Drinks at a hotel bar can be very pricey. Tickets to a Broadway show will run you close to $100 each. At the same time, you can find real good deals on cloths and other merchandise if you know where to look.

Stay away from the people selling phony crap on the sidewalk. That isn't a Rolex their selling for $20. Be wary of some of the stores selling electronics around Times Square, those are some high pressure sales guys in those places. You can negotiate with them, and when you have the price to the point your willing pay, walk out and see if they drop the price more. I had one trying sell me a camera lens - started at $850 and was down to $250 by the time I walked.

If your there on Saturday, there is a mega outdoor bazaar on the Avenue of the America's (6th Ave). You can find some good stuff there cheap. It's between about 42nd St and 57th St if memory is correct.

Try at least tripling that. N.Y. is one of the most expensive cities in the states. You would be lucky to if you only got away with spending 750 a day.
