Well, its the third week in with Ringworm on my 7 wk. old Persian Kittens. its spreading, not getting better. I used the tresaderm, dermazole,lotrimin,miconazole,,iodine.. you name it. I ordered a lyme dip which is coming. It's all over their faces. spots on back and under bellies.. feet, Its terrible. I'm calling the vet today to get oral treatments if she'll prescribe them. Knock on wood I havent got it yet. But I'm sure I will. Nothing is working. Are you guys sure this goes away? I'm starting to have doubts. I'll keep working on it,, but gosh its frustrating. Its important to play with them and all at this age.. I am afraid to touch them..But I do anyway.. I cant help it..

I am going through this with my kitten I just brought home that I found. You need to confine them to one place in the house, preferrably a non-carpeted room. You need to get the oral meds that you take for 5 days and the Rx shampoo. With the shampoo you bathe them 2x a week.

Clean all the areas they have been really really well. Wash towels, sheets, etc; everything that you can. The ringworms are only spreadable by touching them but also spreadable by spores (airborne like dust). Make sure that you clean the room that they are in once a week really well also and also clean their litter box really well. I recommend bleaching area that you can; it is a fungus and is killed better by this mean of cleaning. These kittens need to be kept in confinement up to 3-4 weeks to be on the safe side. With that said the shampoo needs to be applied 2x a week for 3-4 weeks as well.

Good Luck, it is a mess. We found out our cat had them after both my daughter and I got a ringworm, but my husband hasn't got one at all. It has been about 4 weeks that we have had the cat and only 1 1/2 weeks since treatment. She still has to be kept in confinement per the vet for another couple of weeks.

If you touch them make sure to wash really good. And make sure you treat yourself as a precaution with some type of antifungal cream.

Fast Ringworm Cure?

Yes, it goes away.

DO NOT SCRUB the areas, that spreads the spores! Dab the medicine onto the area and slowly work it's way into the hair line around each spot.

Actually, if you have a pharmacist in your area who compounds medicine, ask for a liquid miconazole--it goes on easier, quicker, gets into the fur line, and is a lot easier to control than the creams.

You should be seeing new hair growth by now on the oldest spots.

Word of warning--the dip is going to stink to high heaven.

Use plastic gloves to play with them, they can get human contact that way and you can stay safe. When I was treating ours I only got the one spot on my leg, which cleared up with the same treatment I was using on the cat. I never got it on my hands--and I didn't use gloves to put the cream on either, which rather surprises me now, LOL.

Feed your kittens garlic. I know it sounds weird, but garlic kills everything. You can either use garlic oil capsules, and squirt them in their mouths, or you can dice up the garlic and then roll it up in a small amount of food, and then pop it down their throats like a tablet. Hope this helps.

It goes away pretty easily on humans with treatment...
