If it's not possible, then how can we be commanded to do something that is not within our ability to perform?

Yes, if you are filled with the Holy Ghost.

Jeremiah 31:33
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Hebrews 8:10
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Hebrews 10:16
This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

You are not being commanded to do something that is not within your ability to perform. You were not a party to that covenant. It ended. It went the way of the dodo.

The whole purpose of the law was to show man's inability to measure up. It is not within man to do so.

The new covenant is a law of the Spirit. It is a law of faith expressed through love. In this way, you "fulfill" the law as opposed to "keeping" the law.

Nice to see Jesus is the get out clause in some answers. It must have a long day for his legal secretary while he was dictating on the cross.

Only if you can keep the two commands of Jesus.
To love everybody as you do yourself
and to love God with all of your body, soul, and spirit.
And to Love one another.
If you do these two the rest will fall in order,
Jesus was the only human that ever fullfilled the Law.
In Christ you are as responsible for your thoughts as you are your actions. What would we do without forgiveness?

Right, you say 10 commandments but that is just a summary. In the Mosiac law there are actually 622 laws. Do you think you can follow the entire old testament and all the laws? If you EVER broke one law, the pentalty is death. QUITE IMPOSSIBLE!!!!

Now, there is a way to fullfill the law. And that is by having faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. By our faith in Him, we are actually fullfilling the law, and we become rightous in the eyes of God. Think about it, Jesus is the ONLY ONE who ever completely fullfilled the law.

Now we are justified by faith, not by law. Isn't it wonderful???

It is possible to keep them on a certain level, but no one can keep them completely.

Breaking them is a sin (1 John 3:4).

That is why we need grace, which only comes thru following Yeshua.

Some people seem to be able to....

BUT, I'm not one of them as I do NOT worship the God of Israel but instead worship the Gods of the Greeks.....

Don't worry about any alleged god's laws, you can only be arrested if you break man's laws.
