I want the recipient to know that I have got married and am not a new member of staff. They can then see that I'm still the same person but they can update their records.

You could write:
Jane Brown (nee Doe). Nee means originally or former.

I signed mine as First Name Married Last name (maiden name) for a few weeks after marriage.

the old formal way of doing this is to write

Mary Married-name, nee: Mary Single-name

Nee: being Latin for "born"

right with you maiden name at first so they will recognize you, then tell them a letter what your new married name is.

Just put nee and then your maiden name. i.e

June Bloogs, nee June Brown.

JUST SIGN IN YOU R MARRIED NAME AND PUT A FOOT NOTE IN WITH YOUR MAIDEN NAME.

write your new sigature and next to it in brackets write nee your old name eg. nee spencer.
