I mean, if it's by their personal choice, and that's what's they want to do, why do some ppl critisise it? And say things like, I'd hate to be her and be made to wear that. I mean, if someone is making her wear it, I personally think that's wrong. Why do some ppl think all Muslim women are made to cover their heads?
But if it's her personal decision, why should it be critisised?
I'm not Muslim but I have a lot of Muslim friends.

It's no one else's business that a woman is covering themselves for self-respect and modesty. ppl really have no lives and nothing else to do besides bash Muslim women and Islam. What happened in France was so horrible to me, I was devastated. Isn't what they did forcing women to do something against their wills? I was disgusted by the French govt, that country does NOT have freedom!

♥M♥ got one thing right; the dislike and mistrust of head scarves has more to do with the islamic faith than the scarves themselves. I hardly blame anyone for the mistrust. Islam has earned the criticism it has gotten in the free world. ♥M♥ should focus on why muslim countries have so many limits on religious freedom, especially in Arab countries. France banning head scarves pales in comparison to the harassment other faiths receive in muslim countries. The banning was not an initiation of aggression toward Islam, but instead a reaction to muslim aggression.
By the way, forcing someone to wear a head scarf IS wrong, and women are forced to wear it in many muslim countries.

I also agree that forcing an indvivdual to wear or do anything they wish not to is completly WRONG!! As in Islam there is No compulsion in Relgion, one shouldn't be forced to do anything aginst their wish. And many that do that, all I can say is they stick to their culutral ways rather than adhering Religion.

The society we live in today, many are less tolerant, many seem to belive what ever they hear on the media, and assume that ALL women are forced! Some are forced I won't disagree with that, however there are others (like myslef) who choose to cover ourselves, how could that be so wrong??

I agree with you. However, some of the Muslim-run governments all over the world REQUIRE a woman to wear a head covering. Actually, I think most of them do. And that is wrong, wrong, wrong.

I'm sure that many of them do choose to wear it. There is safety in anonymity. In a society oppressive to women, what woman wouldn't want to blend into the background and go unnoticed?
And some head scarves are pretty. Although, I think those are mostly the ones they wear in private.
Bottom line though, I don't think many people think about why they wear what they wear, its just the way they were raised. Why do we put toddlers in bikinis?

Because it is perceived to NOT be personal choice. If a muslim woman did not wear that in a muslim country, would she not be looked down upon? Would you not look down on her?

i dont know why they do this. i wear a scarf and i am doing just fine. i wear one because my religion says that i should. noone forced me to put it on i chose to my self. my parents did encourage me. at the end of the day, i dont care what other people say and feel about me because aslong as i am making my self happy, that is all that matters to me,
