Meaning and purpose are tied together. Our lives have meaning when we live for a real purpose. Real purpose requires God.
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell
I think that seeking God and finding God is our purpose. Just knowing that God loves me gives my life meaning.

Suffering.
Though I'm not a Buddhist technically, I do still follow in the understanding that life is suffering and is tied intrinsically to desire. One can only end suffering through emotional and conscious disconnection from all aspects of life.
Throughout life, one who follows this path of disconnection will effectively become less patterned, less complicated and less concerned.... until they attain a state of one-ness with oblivion finalised cleanly by death.
