You asked two questions:
Zip code: no zip code in Hong Kong.
How to deal with stupid site that ask for zip code no matter where you are from: what you entered may go to the envelope, so put in non-harmful information, like HK or 00000.

I'm going to Hong Kong in July too! I've been a few times then and yeah, it does get really hot and quite humid. First time I went there, it was a bit of a shock since I'd never travelled to Asia. It's sunny 90% of the time but sometimes you get some really heavy rain and thunderstorms which are beautiful but generally Monsoon season is over by about May but Typhoon Season then kicks in until about September so expect some gorgeous tropical on some days. I've never worn sunscreen in Hong Kong because, to be honest, you're only wondering the streets so you'll be shaded by the tall buildings or be in inside with the air con. I would take some just in case you go up the Peak, visit the Big Buddha in Lantau or somewhere open planned like a park because the sun does beat down a lot but like I said, it's so built up, there's quite a bit of shade. Have you been before? If not, it's absolutely stunning. I'm only 15 so can't say I've travelled the world yet but it's the most amazing place and I can't wait to go back again. I'm hoping to live there when I'm older if everything goes to plan. EDIT: Like some of the other suggested, bring an umbrella for both the rain and sun. You'll definitely want it for shade if you're going to be queueing outside Cotton Street or something for The Peak as that will be right in the mid-day sun.

From what I know best, Hong Kong does not use zip codes. I mailed out a letter last week and my cousin received it. It did not have a zip code on it, it simply was identified by the rest of the address.
And the end just stated "Hong Kong"

Not one single zip code is used in Hong Kong. Just state you address and put either Hong Kong island, Kowloon or New Territories before the word 'Hong kong'

HK has no zip code.
Example:
FLAT 123, ABC House
DEF Estate
Kowloon Tong, Kowloon
Hong Kong
Hong Kong doesn't need zip code. It is a small city, the the flat123 itself already directs the mail to that mailbox

It is true that Hong Kong lacks a postal code. In many cases you can get away with "HK" or a bunch of zeroes; however there is a semi-official "dummy" postal code: 999077. Some sites will only accept this. some will auto-fill once you elect Hong Kong, but others are more of a pain.

Mainland China uses post code system, however there is no post/zip code in force for Hong Kong.
PS.All American web sites are programmed as such that where they ask you for the address it must include the ZIP code as well.It does not matter just fill in 12345,it will work.
