A hairstylist once told me that the trick to getting straight hair is to continue to hold it straight while it cools. It's the cooling phase that is critical. So use a brush to hold out your hair, move the hair dryer up and down the hair section, then move the hair dryer away from the hair and continue to hold your hair in place with the brush for a few moments. It cools pretty quickly so it only take a little time. That should help.

when i was younger and i couldn't afford straighteners i bought a perm kit only instead of putting the rollers in i brushed my hair with the solution on for the same amount of time that you would have left the rollers in.

Brush it straight when you dry it!! You need to pull down hard with the hair in the brush. Works for me!!

Have you tried a hairdryer in lieu of a hair straightener?

maybe try blowdrying it. my hair is naturally straight but sometimes it goes a little poofy so i either use the hairdryer or the straightener. lol
