Since we evolved from apes, we are animals too. I don't know why Christians take this as an insult, I find it quite amazing.

Religions do not consider animals to have souls and therefore do not have an afterlife That's why the Messiah could not have been a fish.

It says in the Bible that only Humans have a soul. Animals don't and thus do not go to heaven or hell. It says in the Bible that we are created in Gods image and that God came to earth as a man (Jesus) so he must have been human.
