It's not the best thing for you. However it all depends on what muscle you pull, how badly you pull it, and how quickly you get stress off the muscle. If you are lucky and it's not a bad pull you can be back in working order if you just use something like naprocene (aleve) and a lot of ice for the first 2 days and then heat. Then you should be fine. However, if you pull a major muscle get to a doctor quickly, as you could have torn something and you need to get it checked out. You may need to get some kind of test to check it out, and may need a brace or further help like physical therapy.

These things normally heal themselves.
If the pain goes away when you relax the muscle, you're OK. Rest up for a few days until the pain goes away, then exercise gently until the muscle regains its strength.
If it hurts when the muscle is fully relaxed, see a doctor or physio in case you've done something ore serious.

Yes it can be. If it does not heal naturally within 1 or 2 days, consult a doctor.

It really depends on the muscle but I suggest you don't do it because it can cause some injuries.

not serious at all, just rest it for a couple of days, then carry on with some light exercise. making sure you warm up well with lots of streches.
