Because the bible was written 2000 years ago.
You wouldn't refer to a medical text book from that time to find a cure for any current diseases, so why refer to a manual for life written by scribes who were born long after the Jesus myth began.

Nothing has changed. Everything in the Bible is as true today as it was when it was written.
The Bible says homosexuality is wrong. WHY does it say homosexuality is wrong? I don't know, that's something you'd have to take up with the writers. My theory, though, is that it's because it can be harmful to those who engage in it. Almost everything that is mentioned as a sin in the Bible is either harmful to others, or harmful to the person who commits the sin.
The above is also true for premarital sex.
By the way, though, I don't "look down" on such things. That's not my job. I just think they're sins. But, no one is perfect. I wasn't a virgin when I met my husband, and I am a nonpracticing bisexual.

Marriage is defined firstly in Genesis making it God given and sacred.
Genesis 2
23And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
25And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
This debate will never be "won" as long as the definition of good and evil are different from one another.
Fornication and homosexual relations are sin according to the Bible and the Koran. In this day of inclusivity and tolerance you will just have to live with the fact that other people and their sacred texts do not share your beliefs.

The Bible is the word of God. We are not God so it is not our place to question it. We must have faith.
