I believe there is. I am fortunate in that I was healed instantly when I gave my life to Jesus, and I've seen others healed by miracles too, but I have also seen people beat depression slowly. I believe that we need to know, deep down, who we truly are in Christ. Our fears of not being good enough, of feeling guilty, of being persecuted or rejected or abandoned, are all lies of Satan. God has made us totally accepted, totally pure, totally good enough and totally free from guilt. We must know this inside.
I recommend a fantastic book, 'victory over darkness' by Neil T. Anderson which helps you to walk through steps to becoming free from the things we believe about ourselves.

It is not Gods plan and dont blame the Devil I dont give him credit for anything.
If you are depressed it is caused by a chemical reaction in your body and tablets can help and councilling.
If you are fed up and feeling down that is different and you should think hard about what may be causing these feelings, and can you change any of the circumstances leading up to this.
My best advice is to pray to your Heavenly Father and ask him to heal you of all these feelings AND trust that He will.
I had depression some years ago and I prayed to God and asked His Angels to help me. Archangel Raphael is a Healing Angel and it worked for me. I ALSO believe that certain illness comes through stress and dissapointment and its only when you look back and see what you were doing or not doing that you realise how much was wrong and no wonder you became ill. I do healing work now and most of the clients I see can relate to this, they change their lifestyles and they get better and usually everyone I meet ends up believing in God and His Angels.
Trust in God and His Angels and know that God only wants the best for all His Children like any other Father. God bless.

Depression hits us all at some stage in the course of our lives. Nobody is immune from this condition. There are a multitude of reasons why we can get depressed; bereavement, failed relationships...the list goes on. You never stated exactly why you are feeling depressed, and of course that is your choice. But it makes it difficult to give you an informed answer. The only clue you gave was, that you were looking for a Christian way to resolve your problem. The only answer I can give you is pastoral counselling. Talking to your pastor or minister will be of enormous benefit to you. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I can't believe how many of you are so ignorant. Everybody has ups and downs but some people have a severe chemical imbalance in their brains which is completely different. No amount of praying is going to help you, you need to get medical help.
How many of you are parents? Would you honestly just tell your child to pray and that everything will work out fine? If so, you should be locked up. I pity you.

I don't believe He ever wants us to be depressed.
One way to beat it is to go and do something kind for someone. Make a list of your blessings.
Get some exercise. The endorphins will take over, and you'll feel better.
Pray. Read the Bible. Ask God for comfort.

YES - Understand the WORD, and give up Religion.
The Church the Biblical Jesus was referring to was his Body, not a building or a Man-Made Money Making Religious Setup like the Roman Catholic Church, The Anglican Church, Islam, Judaism, etc...

Norman Vincent Peale's book
"The Power of Positive Thinking"
is still as good as any.
It gives excellent normal non-dogmatic advice, although it chooses things from the Bible -- from the Wisdom bits.

depression is a natural emotion. Jesus wants to help you
while satan wants to beat you down.
a christian often becomes depressed because friends or
loved ones may be lost for example.
the main thing is to put Christ above all other things in your
life and pray for yourself and others and be a good example.
and always remember you will at times make mistakes as
any of us do but ask for forgiveness and also show mercy to
others, for the Lord demands repentance and also the
merciful shall obtain mercy!
