Ice at lowest levels ! Sound like a statement from the Earth is warming .."beware!"...group.
I wonder how they explain fossil remains of rain forest in the southern polar region. Perhaps someone dug a massive hole dumped the stuff in the ice and then buried it!
The ice has melted and reformed many times ,some people Actually believe in the Ice Age..what a radical thought !
As for measuring the ice levels ,only recent data is available (last couple of hundred years). Most of the planet is burning up experts, use a scientific method called the "Force".

It's certainly the lowest since we have data (satellite and explorers maps).
And information can be gained by looking at the sediments below the Arctic Ocean outside of the present ice cap.

"Or maybe they are at their lowest level in 10, 000 years since that is when the earth was created according to the bible?"
Not "according to the Bible". According to an Anglican priest who claimed it in 1600 or so. Many devout believers think he was wrong. They believe the real story of creation (and it's consistent with all of science) is that someone said "Let there be Light" 13 billion years ago, with a Big Bang.
Great website about it.

Remember that for people, the world begins when they are born. If a person is less than 70 years old, then it like the record heat of the Dust Bowl Era never happened, the high number of hurricanes in the 1930's - 40's never happened, warming and cooling cycles never happened.
Everything is referenced from their life only.
Silly, isn't it? And it's winter now. The Arctic ice is gaining, growing by thousands of square miles per day. The Arctic ice melts every summer. Somehow the minions just don't get it. The story about the Arctic ice will run again next summer, reinforcing the minions belief that man is causing the problem.

Freedom and Liberty - nevertheless i think of it extremely is an atypical question your is a faux answer. William gray has a PHD in geophysical technology. i assume that classifies at a climate scientist nevertheless it additionally bargains with geology and different earthly sciences. Don Easterbrook is a geologist Khabibullo Abdusamatov is an astrophysicist Ian Plimer is a geologist Ian Clark is a geologist Tim Patterson is a geologist Piers Corbyn isn't a lot of something nevertheless he does make predictions and is declared as a 'weatherman'. anyhow, that's what my speedy seek of those names grew to become up. Ottawa Mike: Why do you save posting lack of expertise in accordance with me? I listed what each and all of the persons did and what they studied. i discussed that particular, there have been extra suitable than what replaced into published yet those that have been published have been fake. A geologist would not take care of climate. They went with the aid of distinctive study than a climatologist does. Do you realize that? The question in contact 'climate scientists' a geologist isn't a 'climate scientist'. An astrophysicist isn't 'a climate scientist'. as quickly as you get it out of your head that only approximately anybody may be a climate scientist in the event that they positioned their ideas to it then possibly you will discover ways to distinguish fact from non-fact. Your record is extra useful as they're 'climate scientists'. end responding to my posts with stupidity.

Good question. Arctic sea ice melt is extremely variable and due mainly to dynamic forcings (wind and ocean which are due to regional climate) than to radiative or thermal forcings (which may be related to global warming). http://www.cpom.org/research/swl-nature.pdf
If global warming was the cause, you would expect Antarctic Sea ice to also be melting but it is not. To see images of the level of sea ice in the Southern Hemisphere, go to http://arctic.atmos.uiuc.edu/cryosphere/IMAGES/current.365.south.jpg and http://arctic.atmos.uiuc.edu/cryosphere/IMAGES/current.anom.south.jpg
Roger Pielke wrote in August of this year that Arctic Sea ice was approaching a record low. He says the Northwest Passage is beginning to appear. If the Northwest Passage opened, it would allow ships to pass from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific north of Canada. The Northwest Passage was open twice before in 1905 and 1944. A total of about 60 ships took the passage during those years. http://climatesci.colorado.edu/2007/08/10/arctic-sea-ice-areal-coverage-approaching-record-low/

The positive feedbacks hypothesized by the global warming alarmists seem not to be too significant since the sea ice came back in 1906 and 1945.

They are I believe discussing the total volume or mass of the Ice. If you measured over a certain area of your freezer before you defrosted it and marked that area before defrosting for a period of time there would be a difference in volume from the start to when you took the second measurement.
