It is the near future. A crisis between Pakistan and India is growing into a war. The use of a small scale nuclear device (nuclear tipped artillery shell) has caused concerns across the globe. However many nations are not ready to get involved in such a situation in fear of a full scale nuclear war between the two nations.

The President agrees to send a RRF (Rapid Response Force) into the area, since the military is stretched so badely at the time (iraq, afghanistan) but is unwilling (yet) to get more involved.

A small unit of marines is in India but is not able to get to the border because India does not want them to get involved right now. They will be stuck a good distance from the fighting.

Meanwhile (and this is where the story really takes place), a traitor Russian General has just made a deal with China for some very advanced technology torpedoes. Code name "Turtle" they are undetectable to sonar.

China gets the torpedoes and launches a surprise attack against the US fleet

heading to India. We then start to learn there is more to this crisis then just a fued between India and Pakistan.

China uses the crisis (well they were starting to before their attack) to put more troops along the Nepal-India-Pak borders.

The US navy is devastated (at least 2-3 carriers are sunk or badely damaged along with several surface ships and submarines).

Now Asia has only their troops plus what US and other countrie's troops that are stationed all ready there.

However those numbers are low, and China uses this to attack S. Korea (with n. korea), Taiwan, The Spratley islands, and puts pressure on Japan to stay out of the war.

Japan accepts the fact that they should stay out and forces US forces to withdraw from their islands in order to keep peace, and the US must find new bases and ways to fight a war they have little chance at winning or geting new troops to.

I got a lot of the idea for it from the fact that China also is like Japan in the 30's and 40's needing outside resources (fuel, food and such), since they import some 70% or more of their natural resources. And a invasion of Kazahkstan and Kajistatn is also part of it.

It would come dwon to NATO and the US bleeding them of their fuel as they stop many attempts to capture and hold oil areas.

Create some diplomatic chaos. You can include a UN security council resolution or sanction against "the bad guys", in order to be realistic, and as always nobody will respect that resolution, and remember china and Russia are permanent members of security council, and thats why NATO stay out of the conflict, because France and the others SC members want to avoid any problem with China or Russia, leaving US alone........dramatic and realistic, especially when you talk about the useles UN.
Good luck

1. There are no resources that China needs on the Indian subcontinent.
2. Torpedoes are not primarly tracked by sonar. There are other technologies involved (all classified), so a "sonar-proof" torpedo would be picked up anyway.
3. Every carrier operates as the lead ship in a strike group. There is a 200+ mile protective screen around the carrier, including anti-submarine protection. So, it is doubtful that two to three carriers would be taken out by torpedoes.
4. The Chinese submarine service is in its infancy. And they have no reliable source nation for training future crews.
5. Should India and Pakistan start "saber rattling" at each other with their nukes, the four "great powers" of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty would invoke Codicile 42 of that agreement and send in a multinational force, not just U.S. troops.
6. There is no historical record of the Peoples' Republic of China invading another nation for the sheer sake of invading it. Tibet can be considered analogous to our movement westward within our own continent. China has only crossed borders when it has felt it was going to be invaded itself.
7. The most likely sceanrio for any aggresive act by China in search of natural resources would be a Naval-led occupation of the Spratley Islands in the South China Sea. The area around those islands are said to be a rich source of natural gas and crude oil. Four other nations have already laid claim to those islands as well.

What a ridiculous fantasy.

Japan is the most feared nation in Asia. I wouldn't trust them to save my life. They are the biggest warmonger, cutthroat people around. So what they only have a defense force, if they could start an empire tomorrow, they wouldn't hesitate!

I don't even want to know what kind of technology they have been keeping secret.
