she is otherwise quite healthy and plays though i think while running she seems to tire out faster.
Do dogs get a bad throat ? how can one know

Took her to the vet last evening, He did not find anything wrong with her. Told me to watch for a couple of days and only feed her when she asks for something

She needs to see a vet. She could have an esophagus problme. A narrowing or other restriction.
At 5 months it could be anything.. People don't realize that vaccines can also cause eating disorders and digestive upset and anorexia. Heartworm preventative can also cause these things. But you need to get her to the vet and see if they can figure it out.

my little boy went through a phase like that.... since i'd seen a puppy tooth on the carpet, i assumed his lower appetite was due to teething. and since he eats dry food, i assumed the choking was due to his not being able to chew as well. i started moistening his food with a little water, and that helped. he's just over 6 months now, and all is fine. you should still call your vet, though, just to be sure it isn't something that needs medical attention.
