What do you mean that the a/c blows vent air only? What switch did you check and and found it ok? How did you check your level of freon? Do you have a R-12 system or is it R-134a?

You have to check to see if the AC compressor is engaging when you ask for an AC function. If the gas level is good inside the system, you have an electrical problem somewhere before the compressor or in the clutch control of the compressor.
