Churches feels gloomy because in the past, it also serves as the cemetery. The dead are buried just outside the church. Or priests were laid to rest inside the structure. But not evil or empty.

It is the presence of God and the working of the Holy Spirit that gives life to a minister's message or church worship. Without God and His Spirit... church can be very meaningless. The Bible says that wherever the Holy Spirit worked there always was a revival and the people could connect with their creator. Besides, there are different types of churches - some are very solemn while some are very lively... It also depends on your spiritual maturity!

I know, you get that too? Another thing i don't get is that, i went to church with my cousin once ( Pentecostal ). When they started speaking in tongues, i simply freaked out. I was like, "If there's a God, please kill me now"... for a moment i thought they were going to turn into some bloodsucking vampires.

Then it ended. When i told my cousin i felt weird and this whole thing is a bit freaky for me. One of her friends happily came to a conclusion that i had the Devil in me.

Sure, the Devil lives in me and i've been looking for him all around. How wonderful. Can you believe these people.

Because people are the church not a building and you are going into the wrong buildings. Spirits can reside where they are invited or allowed in. I know the spirit of laziness resides in my mother's house but peace lives there too.

most churches are meant to inspire awe of the presence of God, but not fear. If it feels evil, it may be that God is not a part of your life. My own church is sometimes silent and reverent, other times we are clapping and singing--both are ways to worship.

Because they are Blanche!
Churches are often gloomy, they often feel evil and dark and they are usually pretty empty of people as well as any kind of spirit.

They are evil places. They are places of misinformation and distrust. They hold the devil within those walls because they only preach lies from a book that has caused death throughout the ages for millions. Nothing good has ever come from religions. They only segregate people into hate groups all around the world.
