First of all, angels were created by God, not born.
Second of all, satan rebeled because God loved people more and his pride got the better of him.
Third of all, where do you live??!! Children rebel against their parents all the time.

Not loving at all, since neither he nor his angels exist. And you are wrong when you say kids don't rebel against their parents. Most teenagers rebel to a certain degree, be it just a little bit or in some cases, a great deal.
Anyways, Morgaine, I loved your quote from the bible, about Satan rather ruling in hell than serving in heaven. LOL!
And Atticus Finch, don't rile the poor questioner about "history" because your fairy tale is not history.

If a painter creates a masterpiece, the painting shows the painter's glory. It serves a purpose which is to show the greatness of the author, his skill in the art. Painters are honored because of their paintings because it is due to them.
It is the same thing with the All-Loving God. He created pure spiritual creatures for a purpose, which is to show His glory and in turn to glorify Him. But since He is so loving, He created these creatures with free will. The creatures were not forced to do their purpose, which is to exalt His maker. With all of these creatures exercised their free will, 2/3 chose to do their purpose and 1/3 chose not to. God should only be honored and loved because it is due to Him.

33% is a wedge. The rest understood the law and believed. God's government is holy. His doctrines are righteous. His mercy is infinite. He is the embodiment of love. Rebellion leads to destruction, which is the moral. He didn't create them to be destroyed. They held a gathering and decided for themselves. Any blame is squarely a part of their stupid mistake. The Lord does not want anyone to go that same route. Enter His Son.

"You rarely find children who rebel against their parents" - clearly you have a different world view. In the UK it is not uncommon for children to rebel against their parents especially in the teenage years. And how do you find yourelf so well qualified to comment on the feelings murderers have for their parents?

The importance of a christian belief is to find relief from anger and frustration. How little you know of rebellion or those who would murder their parents. They do so because they want their way, not the way of the parent. God by the way loves those who love him, not everybody, so if your not one, you will never know.

The best indication of this god would be the behavior of his followers. Christians are generally loving and caring as individuals...
Its all what you want to make of it really.

The question is do you want to live life God's way or your own way? That's the sin of the human race - going our own way and determining for ourselves how we are going to live our lives instead of submitting to God's plan for our lives & listening to his guidance and wisdom.
There is a quote in the book Dante's Inferno that comes from the mouth of Satan - it says "I'd rather rule in hell than serve in heaven." And many people feel this way today - they'd rather run their own lives than have to worry about what God wants...
It's not that God was not loving, but that they wanted to live outside the boundaries that God put up for their protection. Satan wanted to be the one worshipped instead of one of the angels who's purpose it was to worship & serve God.
