Generally it is 16 yrs of age if you can financially support yourself.

However go to http://www.thesource.gov.au/find/life/housing.asp and see your rights about moving out of home and help offered to you.

16 is the age for leaving home without parental permission anywhere in Australia but if you do so, you might find you have problems finding somewhere to live unless you sort it out before leaving home. You cannot sign legal documents like leases until you are 18.

16 although i left home at 14 and my parents couldn't do nothing about it and it was the hardest thing i have ever done i don't advise anyone to leave home before you can support yourself properly because in the real world everything costs alot of money i was earning $150 a week my rent was $100 and the power wasn't cheap this left me with basically nothing to live on even at 16 you are too Young to earn enough money to support yourself.

I left home at 16, that was the legal age and I am pretty sure it still is. Try and find a job first if you can, and maybe you can board with someone. I would ring you local council and ask for help there, they should be able to direct you to someone that can talk to you and help you.
