In your opinion?

Of course people will say celebrities like Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan are bad role models.. .

It's sad to see that people who I thought were good role models are actually not as good as I thought. It just takes a little researching on the net.

Are there any celebrities not associated with ::
-drinking/drugs
-plastic surgery
-harmful weight loss / being too thin in general
-nudity
-scandals
-excessive swearing
-being uptight&big-headed
-drink driving
-being hypocritical?
Like for eg Ashlee Simpson said everyone should be happy with themselves, with what they look like... she said she was happy with herself and stuff..then she goes on to get a nose job. There are so many other examples of this.

Is there a genuinely nice, sophisticated & mature person in the film/music industry? Please let me know.

Thanks everyone .x

I dont know why everyone thinks Hayden is a great role model. Sure, she's better than many, but she still parties alot at clubs and stuff..i read in a newspaper she parties with a big party girl I can't remember the name of..maybe Lily Allen or Britney or somebody. It will come to me..~

I agree with you nurmalso987 - I don't look up to celebrities as role models because they are so unpredictable ..I'd rather make my own way to the top =] and learn from my own experiences.

I am just wondering who you think has a positive/negative influence on us~

The problem is people being influenced by ANY celebrity, whether in a good or bad way.
What's with the celebrity worship?
These people do a job called "acting". Why does this make them any better than doctors, or social workers, or gas station attendants? They are no wiser or better than anyone else, yet as a group they're worshiped. Who gives a crap what watch Cindy Crawford wears, or what perfume Paris Hilton has her company manufacture for her? The worship of celebrities who have the money to afford expensive clothes, shoes, handbags, cars, homes, physical trainers, fine dinners, etc. is utterly absurd. How can people compare themselves with these actors who can afford to hire hairdressers, stylists, shoppers, publicists, managers, and business consultants; and have video or digital magic airbrushing their human flaws to make them look super human? Don't people realize that given all of the same means many of us could be just as glamorous (and probably less stuck-up and more generous). Wake up young people!! If we all started caring less their make-believe pedestals will topple.

I really don't think celebrities can be role models. You can't judge someone, and tell whether they're good or bad, you don't know them personally. It's up to parents to set a good example for kids. What's wrong with pam anderson, brittany spears, and marilyn manson? chris brown I can understand... but not the rest.

I think Sandra Bullock is a good role model. She donated like 1 million dollars to the victims of tsunami victims in Thailand. I'm not saying that everybody has that much money to give or that they shold even give money but it's nice that she got involved.

Keep this particular meal between 400 and six hundred calories. Serve yourself a scaled-down portion, so if you like going back for seconds, you'll just turn out eating a normal-size portion.

Personally, I look up to Kate Winslet. She is so down to earth, nice, nothing you listed. Sure, in some of her movies she has done nude scenes, but she is comfortable with her body image and I admire that so much. She doesn't take roles that ask her to lose weight because she doesn't think that should have anything to do with the way she will perform.

I love Kate. I have always looked up to her and probably always will.

I don't see any reason why they should have to be. Aren't they just people like us that want to live their own lives? Movie stars are supposed to entertain us, not make an example for us. And people like Paris Hilton, we all know what she's about, fame. One offhand I can think of that doesn't do anything weird is Nicole Kidman. I think she is good in all her movies and doesn't make a display out of herself in any way. She handled Cruise's divorce with grace and has stood by her husband throughout his addiction problems.
