I tell some people i am athiest and they reply "Well who do you think put people and animals on this earth and where did the earth come from?", i reply with something simple like, "evolution. 1 celled organism and it grew into million celled organisms." They reply, with something like " How did that 1 celled organism get there?"

The truth is, i don't know. But the same is for the exsistnce of god. We don't know, truley.

But, they think they are all right and on there high horse, and i come back with something like, "Well, Where did god from, What made him?" They say "he has allways been there."

So why can't that 1 celled organism allways of been there.

We have more proof that it was evolution, Then "god"
some guy in a book.

Agree/Disagree, Why?

_This question did not come out as perfect as i wanted it to,It has it's flaws, but i could not think of everything i wanted to say and the ways i wanted it to put it in._

The Universe contains all the material needed for life.

Scientist have already created organic molecules, which would lead to life on Earth.

Organic molecules evolved into protocells either because of nucleic acids (genes-first), biochemical reactions (metabolism-first) or some other means - depending on theory. From there life.

This is where scientist are stuck: How did organic molecules evolve into protocells.

We know life evolved, it's just a matter of finding the answers and we will in time - Whether in a lab or studying some other world far into the future.

I'm am far more awed by the complexity of our Universe, then thought of some omnipotent God going "poof" and everything is here.

We have the testimony of people who knew Him; the same way we know there was a Geo. Washington. Also, man (scientist included) can not make (much less create from nothing) a machine that runs by perpetual motion, howbeit, everything in the universe runs by perpetual motion; that's a lot of perfection to be an accident. And, God's law is written on your heart -- you know it. There is virtually nothing in the bible that can be said to be incorrect, whereas you read Copernicus from five or six hundred years ago, and it is way out there (stars are light shining through holes in a giant turtle shell). The bible was written thousands of years before this, yet did not make any mistakes; and, given that is had to be for all people for all times.......if anything is awesome, that is. Who but God could do such a thing. Or tell the history of the giants in twenty-five words or less. Ignorant people can start pointing out fallacies, but they are wrong. Evolution is what man has discovered about the way God created. If "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." is the history of the first 10.4 billion years (the solar system was formed when an old star exploded and coalesced together again forming at the same time all the elements heavier than iron). The one-celled organism's existence can be explained by science. The Miller-Urey experiments demonstrate that conditions on Earth billions of years ago facilitated the formation of organic compounds. On a timescale of millions of years, random reactions eventually resulted in more and more complex chemical structures that could utilize energy from breaking down compounds and self-replicate. These structures were also subject to random change. Self-replicators that changed and became more complex and successful grew in number. Eventually, they grew into unicellular organisms. By continued processes of mutation and natural selection, all other forms of life emerged. Thus, there is a perfectly rational causal explanation for the existence of the first one-celled organisms.

Creationism is a mythological view. Humans have a fundamental need to explain the source and reason for their existence. Primitive people tell stories about creation by some kind of deity. These stories are passed on. Genesis survives to this day.

Humans have a tendency to attribute intent and design to things due to their evolutionary need to function within a society with other humans. When applied to natural phenomena, this is a logical error. Human intuitions are often wrong (i.e. the sun orbits around the earth, the natural state of an object is rest) as these non-rational human cognitive systems are evolutionary conveniences for function within the relatively simple Pleistocene environment. Rational, mechanistic worldviews correspond well to reality; they are empirically successful. Pre-rational views do not.

Science puts a man on the moon and places a by accurately describing the physical nature of reality. Religion fails to make accurate predictions about reality.

What a rational worldview entails for meaning in human existence is a problem that is beyond the scope of this question.

We know that life has not always "been there"; at best, it is 4.5 billion years old. The question of how life got started in the first instance is perhaps the greatest mystery in biology, and I doubt that it will ever be solved; although I have every expectation that scientists will create life starting from elements sometime in the next century, it is likely to the point of near certainty that it did not happen the same way in nature. There is, however, no reason to suppose that any sort of supernatural intervention was involved; every other process in the universe proceeds on the basis of the same natural laws, and there is no reason to suppose that this is an exception.

First off I am not saying I don't believe in my faith. Yea I kind of wonder where God came from, and like you said someone will say He has always been there. But to our knowledge when something is made we think there has to be a creator. Like a tv someone made that tv and the parts to make it work. So we assume since there is God someone had to create Him. But it is just one of many things that cannot be explained. I personally don't even think about it anymore because I don't want to make up things that are not true. But the reason you get that answer when asking somebody that question is because that is what the bible tells us. So if the bible is our official authority than we take it by its word. But true somethings cannot be explained.

Abiogenesis is a mystery. There are things such as viruses that share many of the properties of life but are not technically alive. How the jump was made to true life will likely remain a mystery until someone can create life artificially. That could take awhile, though there was a claim last week that someone has created an artificial chromosome.

It's different jodie.

Those who believe in god believe that god is perfect in every sense. Whereas this single cell organism is not. Because it's an organic, living thing it can be killed. God cannot. If it is then decided upon that god is perfect, god therefore has more ability to "have always been there" than this single celled organism.

That probably made no sense at all... but regardless if you need cold hard scientific proof on whether God exists maybe you're better off not believing in God at all, because you must rely on faith and will in order to devote yourself to God.

hope that helps.. ?

Ever wonder why so many seemingly intelligent people spend so much time and energy asking questions, arguing, fighting against, something that does not exist and why is it always the Bible,God or Jesus. Why not the Easter bunny,Santa Claus or superman.Seriously, what is the purpose? Why should I waste one moment of my life concerned about what another believes if I know it is a myth,non-existant?

I, for one, believe the Universe has always existed, and always will. (I think there's a theory that says otherwise, though, so I may be wrong.) The Universe expands and collapses. All the time. At one point, it will all be compacted inside a tiny, microscopic pinprick of space, then explode out again, creating a new Universe.

..that's how I see it, anyways.

If I asked you to prove that Evolution is the reason we're here, and I asked a "believer" to prove that God is the reason we're here....our children's children's children's children's great, great, great, great, great grandchildren will long have been gone without a shred of proof from either side (although I'm leaning to Evolution being solidly proven before God's existance is, lol).
