OK.. so say there's this guy.. right and hypothetically say that somehow viable spermatazoe of mine got on his penis and then he had sex.. (a threesome you don't have to use you rimagination for this hypothetical) .. and the dear lady is now pregnant with twins but she said one is mine and the other is his... and if I didn't even do it with her.. should I have to pay maintenance or not?

I mean, I shouldn't have to pay the maintenance should I?

Or do you think she is just trying to have a joke wit me? IS it even possible.. hypothetical of course... this is. (Just pretend I'm writing a short story - a thriller). :)

The general rule of thumb is that ejaculate is viable while it is still wet... at temperatures below body temperature they start to die... but there are 200-600 million of them in each ejaculation ... not all die instantly!

My dear auntie (rest her soul) gave birth to 10 children. Two of them fraternal twins. Born 2 WEEKS apart (yes that's right folks).
A woman can get pregant by 2 men at the same time. she can produce multiple eggs at one sitting as well. :)

Now - gaz - hypothetically, I am these children's auntiee... and YOU WILL pay maintenance along with Jackie.... :)))

WARNING!!! CONTAINS MATURE LANGUAGE, but nothing VULGAR!

I cannot BELIEVE the IGNORANCE I'm SEEING here!!! Are you "gals" actually SERIOUS when you say a woman cannot become pregnant with twins by two different men?

NOT ALL TWINS ARE IDENTICAL, folks!!! A woman CAN naturally or artifically produce MULTIPLE EGGS... Where to you think FRATERNAL twins come from, UH??? And what of triplets, quads, etc.... not ALL of these multiples are IDENTICALS!!!!

The scenario this person proposes may well be possible as long as all the "imputted" sperm exist around all the eggs that are "available" for fertilization. It is true that only ONE sperm can fertilize an egg (and even this may not be 100% true... I think there might be cases where multiple sperm penetrate... but it might cause the egg to abort because it is abnormal). However, if there are multiple eggs, there are multiple chances for all the available sperm to fertilize them.

Now, my confusion with this person's question is when he says, "if I didn't even do it with her..." If he did not "do it" with her, how can his sperm be inside her, or even on the other person's penis? Did he ejaculate on the other man's penis and then THAT man has sex with her? That scenario is HIGHLY improbable, knowing that sperm must have just the "right" conditions for them to remain viable (alive).

As for "maintenance"... I am assuming in American English, this means Child Support? That goes with a DNA test, and a man has a right to have a DNA test taken to prove or DISprove that he is the biological father.

I DO hope this helps clarify ALL the questions and misconceptions here!

Both of the twins will need to be DNA tested to deternine if they are a match to your DNA after they are born. She really does not know who the father is if she was involved in a threesome of any sort. I hope that she was joking. Best wishes for your thriller. It should be a doozie!

Did you authorize Jack to use your manly stuff in such a way as might impregnate a woman? He is like a son to me, but if he stepped on it, he shall pay. Am I going to be a Cyber Mimi soon? I don't want pretend grandchildren, Gaz! I love those babies, no matter how they got here, hypothetically.

It is possible. However, there will need to be a blood test. REQUEST ONE IMMEDIATELY! You will not have to pay child support until the blood test comes back, then you will only have to pay if the baby/babies are yours. Use protection next time. She doesn't even know who the father is until the blood test has been done.

This is what DNA tests are for, lad!

I suppose it's possible (though not that one is yours and one is his... they're both yours or both his), but unlikely.

Wow. Good luck with that one... hypothetically!

At least it's a unique twist on the sordid "who's the father" thing.

At first I was thinking, "Is that even possible?!!" But then thinking on how manly of a man you are my dear Icy, it got to believe that your semen must be quite extraordinary as well, so I looked it up....
Li and behold http://www.dnacenter.com/media/twins-different-fathers.html

So now I must say get yourself a paternity test, and then find a way to explain it to the wife. Best Wishes. ;p

twins dont happen because 2 guys made love with the same woman...it takes only one sperm to impregnate a girl...twins happen because of a kink during cell division...im not sure if its possible about getting her pregnant because your sperm landed on the other guys penis and he had sex with her...sperms dont stay viable for a long time outside the body...most likely it was the other guy who got her pregnant but if you want to be sure (before you fork over money for support), get a DNA test...

i say you should pay extra to the mother under the condition that you won't have to be the one to explain all this stuff to the hypothetical kids when they ask why and how twins can have two fathers. and they WILL ask... hypothetically, that is.

Not possible at all. A woman cannot be pregnant (even with twins) with two men. Twins are not made by two different sperms from two different men.
You can read more about how twins are produced here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin
