He tries to find fault with me, his mother my parents in useless discussions. We were away to Canada for a year and the change in his behaviour started after we had spent about 3 months there. He could not make friends there in school nor in the neighbourhood. His mother was also not happy living there. So, we decided to come back to India. How do I address this problem pl? Valuable suggestions welcome. - Vikram

At 12 everyone becomes angry and some people aggressive even. You could take him to counseling.

Honestly, it's a stage that all children go through at that age. He'll slowly grow out of it throughout his teens. My younger brother is 12 and he's always got something smart to say... I went through it and so will most preteens and teenagers.

I think you should have your son evaluated by a psychiatrist or other mental health professional. It's possible that his sudden behavior change is caused by a problem with his mental health. I wish you and your family the best.

show your son who is the BOSS!! Talk with him but be the authority, be understanding yet set your opinions and guidelines as a standard of living and don't let him cross the lines. Good luck
