lets say you had a broken or clogged drain, and called for a plumber.
now while your patiently waiting for the plumber to show up, an electrician comes and installs an electric socket.
you didn't need an electric socket.
you didn't want an electric socket.
you didn't have the problem that having the electric socket solved, until it was installed.
the drain is still not working.
wouldn't you still continue waiting for the plumber to come?
or would you accept that the electrician was what you needed, even though it had nothing to do with the problem that was supposed to be solved?
I've used this analogy before, this is comparing to the fact that in Judaism there are certain events that are both the proof and purpose of the messiah, which have not yet come to pass.

hamoh, the point is that basically Jesus is like the electrician. he didn't solve the problem that needed solving, and created and solved an entirely different one.
extraneous electric socket? well, thats the crucifixion. completely unhelpful to the problem you need fixed(the broken plumbing)
Yanki, ummm, no. is there world peace? universal knowlege of God? not last time I checked.
Quincy, if you be asinine and don't try to understand the point, then thats true.
the bottom line is the point that the Jewish messiah has certain tasks to complete that are the point and proof of being the messiah. and these have yet to occur.
here is a page that lists the criteria for the Jewish Messiah.

hbar,
the problem with this is that basically if you have to "follow the instructions" then the pipe isn't fixed.
the pipe YOU are referring to, was never broken. just neglected and ignored.

I will liken the Electrician to Christ. Christ is the anointed one. He is the Messiah. He is the incarnated one. He is fully God and fully human. He is the Savior of the world who has the power to not only restore the electric socket, but he can also repair the clogged drain. Judaism must come to the realization that Jesus indeed is the Savior of the world. Daniell 9:25,26 is a prophesy fulfilled in Christ. Make no mistake about this. Jesus is the Messiah. He is God essentially, and in the highest sense, he is the eternal self-existent, uncreated one. His is life, original, unborrowed, or derived. He is the source and sustance of all. John 1:1-4, 14; Philippians 2:5,6.
The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. Hebrews 9:22.
Our world has been scarred by sin. Sinned has messed up our beautiful planet. The people are immoral and have gone awry. Jesus came to die for our sins. (matthew 1:21)He came to save us from our sins through his vicarius death for us on the Cross. Only Christ and Christ alone can unplug the clogged drains of our lives and
restore the power of the Holy spirit that convicts us of our sins and points us to Christ who indeed is the Savior of the world. Yes, (Jesus saves) He is God and he will return again to take us home to Heaven. He is the electrician that has the divine power to do all things. He is God.

What do they mean the analogy is no good? Impossible. An analogy is a comparison and everything compares with everything else. They never heard of a ship of state, life's a stage or surfing is like life? I guve up. Any way the thing is the plumbing is fixed, we just hafe to follow the instrucciones. It says love each other, love fulfills the law, don't be judgmental, be reasonable, like in let's talk with deep respect, listen. It's all there. That turns on the five megabyte/sec brain. Instead we don't listen and are still, literally, trying to do it with the five byte/sec which in practice works down to using five percent of that total capacity. The power of love. Just following the most basic intructions. The same ones are found in all religions. How easy is that? The five percent is our part. The other nineteen percent, our personal assistant, does the rest. It's called Easy World, were everything is easy. Difficult World has us too busy not following simple instructions. Do I have to add, no food fights? Easy enough?

So Jesus is an extraneous electric socket? Is he 110v, or 220v? Also, if the new socket is near the broken plumbing, does it have the ground protection switch? (that'd be divine).
Will that extra electric socket save me when I die of dehydration because the plumber never came to fix my faucet?
Add> I like this analogy. JC is an electrician that gives me more power and god is a plumber that does not bother to do his job. Thus I either get electrocuted or die of thirst.

I'd fix the problem myself, then use the money to go out and have a good time. And I wouldn't even have let the electrician in the door if I hadn't called him.
Sure my answer is silly. So is the question. Have a nice night.

Your analogy, like most analogies, is a bad one. It does not support anything about the proof or purpose (or existence) of a messiah (past, present, or future).
Seriously, analogies tend to make arguments less credible unless they are extremely relevant to the topic. Nine times out of ten, they are not.
