Because they are blind to the truth and think that the party is going to be in Hell.
Haven't you read some of the questions on here? "What kind of booze will be served in Hell?" "When playing monopoly in Hell will there be a get out of Hell free card?" "What kind of games do they have in Hell?"
The list of stupid questions about Hell go on and on. It's sad, but people don't want to turn to Jesus because they don't want to turn from their sins. One of my friends actually knew a guy who died and went to Hell. The man said it was a horrifying experience. Something that words couldn't even tell. My friend asked if he was ready to accept Christ as his savior... The man said, "No. I don't want to turn from my sin."
He would rather burn in Hell for an eternity than turn from his sin in this world.
Me on the other hand.... I have been to Hell, it was so hot and so scary that words can't explain. Just to have a drop of water would have been nice. When I came back the first thing I wanted to do was drink and drink and drink.
Thank God, Thank Jesus, Thank the Holy Spirit that He brought me back from Hell. I am so glad that our Father in heaven is such a loving and merciful God. He loved me so much that He brought be back from the dead to have eternal life in Him.

I would think there are a few people that would prefer hell over heaven. Some people have done such horrible things that they belive they dont deserve the be in heaven and would much rather be around others like themselves in hell. Either out of guilt or insanity, im sure people willingly choose suffering for a lifetime.

I think the choice centres around the issue of selfishness. To choose heaven, we have to believe that others are just as important as me, maybe even more important. God is the ultimate other. If we are open to the possibility that another loves us and gifted us with life, then we are open to heaven. If you are the centre of your belief system, then that is what you get, yourself, and nothing else, except the knowledge that you chose yourself in isolation. I believe Hell is being alone.
Many people today see individualism as a high virtue. God made us individuals with individual missions. I think it is only when we see ourselves in the context of our relationships that the value of being an individual has a healthy and moral perspective. Many people today seem to have chosen individual license rather individual responsibility, and I think that creates hell on earth as well as directing the individual to a hellish afterlife.

We don't "choose" hell. We choose our supposed "free will" God so graciously gave us. Not all of us are sinners.
And not all Christians are perfect, either. So far my worst sin would be white lies to my parents (I'm a teenager, it happens XD), and denying the existence of God, boohoo.
Hell isn't "fire" it's absence of God. I don't think it would even bother atheists because we're glad to be seperated from him.
One man's trash/hell is another man's treasure/heaven.

Why would anyone believe in heaven or hell when there is absolutely no evidence to suggest they even exist?
Quoting from the bible is not evidence. The bible is a book, made up of words. A book written by man.
Unless of course you can show us all book that was written by the actual hand of a God.
Of course not one of you "Christians" has any evidence to prove the existence of a God.
You're living in a delusion, a delusion built around your inability to accept the reality that this life is all there is. You live, you die and become food for the worms and maggots that inhabit the ground.

Nobody choose hell because everybody want comfort. Remember, you are accountable to the maker for all your words and actions.

Only Christians, because they are the only ones who believe in Hell. I doubt anyone with a stable mind would be interested in their version of Heaven either.

I think Jesus did; he had business there before he ascended to sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty. God does; the dead are not dead to God. The rest might quickly regret it; like going to the top of the trade center on 9/11.

Someone who has been led to believe other wise. There are alot of people out there that the devil uses to stray people away from the True God and unless there are stong enough Christians who are sound in their faith to bring the back to God, they get away with it. =( So sad but true. Pray for more people who are willing to share the word of God with the people they come across.

Chosing to do the right thing every day is something that takes effort. Where we end up in the end isn't a choice we make. Everything leading up to that is.
