I mean yeah there are a lot of people advocating God, but you guys just come around and HACK everyone who has that knowledge of diety. I mean could you BE any more rude? Why do you all go into religious questions and just (try to) destroy everyone? It's really annoying... so... why do you do it?

(fyi, last time i posted a question like this people thought i meant me. I am not atheist. I'm very religious. So take that and chew on it, nothing you say is going to make me think differently)

Well since I am a Buddhist ( and atheist )
I don't believe in doing that.
Granted, I myself am disgusted at some of the thoughtless, crude, rude and demeaning comments from my fellow atheists...but you must realize that it isn't us all atheists.

Well, as you can see, there is a lot of animosity from the atheist side of the fence.

If you're not an atheist, you should really stop to consider this question. As one of my fellows here said "an eye for an eye". Religious peoples, not just Christians I might add, have a tendency to proselytize and try to spread their beliefs - and not always to people that appreciate it.

While I don't mind at all, it's obvious that not everyone here wants to hear about your religious beliefs. I am not going to try to disprove you or call you stupid. I am not going to try to "flaunt" anything at all. But, on that point, I expect you to do the same.

The problem here is - that doesn't always happen. For every atheist out there that's trying to disprove you, there is at least one religious person trying to convert them.

There is a parade every year in my home town that's absolutely massive. People go get seats hours and hours before it starts. And every year I went, about two hours before it started, 30 or 40 guys went walking down the parade route, some of them bearing crosses, handing out literature about their church. Just as much as you might disapprove with an atheist group doing that, some atheists disapprove with religious people doing it.

I really don't want to take sides here, I think both groups should settle down. I respect your belief in Christianity, so respect my belief in nothing and leave me be. Again, the problem is that neither side can resist poking and prodding the other. It won't stop until both sides take a concerted effort to quit.

If nothing that anyone says would make you think differently why are you asking the question? Do you expect any atheist to say, "Because we're rude, awful people."? That seems like the only answer that you would accept. Or you expect more of the rudeness that you speak of in your question so that you can further support your beliefs about atheists.

You seem to have posted a statement in question format.

I think people flaunt anything when they feel the need for validation. Take for instance, women who dress sleazy, they know how they look but they need validation by hearing it from other people. Atheists may not have beliefs but I'll tell you one thing that we all have and that's a conscience. They know there is a reason to believe in a greater being but they love all the attention that comes with saying "I'm an atheist".

You have no 'knowledge' of deity', you just have an unthinking and unquestioning adherence to childhood stories that appealed to you then and you have convinced yourself that these lovely cuddly stories are true - just because you WANT them to be true so much.
You NEED the crutch of religion. Atheists don't need help from an imaginary friend who allegedly promises everlasting life in the sky - as if.
Reality is real.
Fantasy-land is .... a fantasy.
A great shame that you should live your life governed by stories told to ancient man, in a time when mankind was easily hoodwinked. Are you ancient man? I know you are not. So why behave as if you are?

Try this.Don't force your faith on any one or don't even mention it.If there is s debate going on the subject, move away from it.Accept that a religion is a highly personal matter and not open for cross discussion.I am sure that no sane person shall ever bother you, atheist or no atheist.Realize that, as nobody can make you change your faith ,so is with others. It's really very simple.

Can i be more rude? sure i can. But that is not the point, we might come across as rude, but that is not our purpose, the problem is that our beliefs are diametrically different, thus what you consider taboo is meaningless to us. For example the phrase "to wipe my *** with the bible" has almost no negative connotations from my pov yet you might scram heresy. Of course this was an extreme example, but it should illustrate my point that we don't mean harm, we just don't find those things offensive(nor should you, case the bible is just a simple piece of paper).

Well grab a tissue for heaven's sake, cuz your god probably doesn't like the boogers.

You act like we're so awful, but then you have to clarify yourself that noooo you are not one of those horrible lesser human beings called atheists. Yeah, and your Christian forefathers (and mother's) thought the same attitude over blacks. Same game, new face.

Edit:
Flaunt our beliefs... HAH... yeah, us flaunting with the equivalent of a fancy hat while you have the equivalent of a parade float...30 of them each.

your question is rude! you can not go through life and expect to be treated with kid gloves, this is not group therapy, it is a site for Religious debate, debate! you give answers that identify your beliefs, so do we, you give answers that spew out lies from the bible, so do we. but this is what I think;
Christians are nice people, but! it is an offence against your religion for anyone to speak out against god, this faith of your stops you from looking and asking questions surrounding the foundations of your religion, that is faith, blind faith, it has to BE blind because if you look with open eyes you will see as we do, that the so called FACTS of the gospels and of the bible in general are actually fiction. I don't know about you but my bible even finishes with "THE END" like they know it is just a story. Right, please tell us what you do know about your religion, because I can bet you that you don't know as much as ME, or most Atheist, for all you can do is quote the bible, your faith stops you from asking logical questions. Do you know anything about the Pauline church?, its foundation? the Council of Nicea? Constantine the Great? Eusebius? Turtullian? Tacitus? do you know anything about the early Popes; Linus? Alexander?? Pius? Stephen? and the worst Pope ever Damasus? do you know anything about the Gospels of St Thomas or St Barnabas, I bet you don't, except what you hear on YA from US! so get off your high horse and you might actually LEARN something!!!

we try to show you the errors of the Bible, if you listen you will see for yourself why faith has to be blind!

you do not need religion to know your God! isn't he supposed to be everywhere?
