Yes, she can ride in the front. Of course the rear is safer if the airbag is not disabled on the passenger side!

Highly unlikely. Does the seatbelt cross the shoulder or neck?
A childs bones arent hard enough to protect from the impact of airbags but the back side of the front seat wouldnt be any softer. Funny thing is you need to use a booster seat until a child is 13 in england.

You may as well let your six year old ride unrestrained in the front as it sounds like you've let your child ride unrestrained in the back for the last six. What parent allows a child to ride in a car unrestrained. Do you think that because your child is in the back that they are fine unrestrained. Kids will be thrown forward in a collision, and they will slam into the back of the frontseat with tremendous force, and it will kill them. Also, your child can be thrown over the frontseat, slam into the ceiling, or if sitting in the middle of the backseat, then your child could be ejected from the car via the windscreen. Rather than letting your child sit in the front passenegr seat, why don't you just drive with your child in your lap, like britney, and at least this will make sure that you finish the job you started, killing your child. Get seatbelts installed in the back, buy a car that has seatbelts in the back, or don't drive with your child in the car. If anything happened to your child, you would never forgive yourself, but then again, it sounds like you've let your child ride unrestrained for the last six years. You've probably held you child in your lap the whole time that they have been alive, thinking that you have the strength to hold on in a smash. You had this picture that your the best mother, holding your child proudly in your lap, until the car smashed, and you and your child went through the windscreen. What a way for you and your child to die, being ejected from a car through the windscreen, like the crash test footage of the mother holding her child in her lap. Sounds like you the mother of the year. I bet you probably smoke as well, whilst holding your child, you've chain smoked the whole time, just to make sure you win mother of the year.

Its not against the law. But it is highly advisable to put kids 12 and younger in the backseat. They are safer back there, if you ever get in a horrible wreck.
Also children under 65-100 can still be put in booster seats. If you have a belt that is supposed to be across the chest chest, but it crosses their neck instead, then they still need to be in a booster, so that their bodies fit well with the belt. Seat belts are made for adults and children in boosters.
So if she is over 5'0 and under 65 she is pretty safe (no airbags in front)
or if she is UNDER 5'0 but over 100 lbs. Then she is also safe (no air bags in front)
So in other words if she is either over 100 lbs. OR over 5'0 AND air bags are disabled or aren't there, then she is pretty safe in front with you :D
Hope this helped.

Perhaps it is legal. Can't you ask the DMV or Highway Patrol? WOuld that not be more practical?
How about the safety of your child. Perhaps it would be better to wonder which place is safer for your child should you be involved in an accident. Legality of the location of the child will not compensate you for the death or injury of the child should an accident occur. Think about safety first and legality second. When the life of your child may be at stake, surely her desires and your convenience should take a last place to safety.

no don't let your child ride in the fromt because that is a illegal age for a child to ride in the fron. the law for a child to ride in the front is 12 and over not 12 and under so be careful because if the passenger airbag deploy he or she can get serious injure or death. call your nearest DMV or check your car manual or your Sun-visor so drive safe for you and your children and don't get a ticket and remember your child is way safer in the back.

how the hell did you get your driver's license? Use some common sense before you go on here and ask a stupid question. Did you ever ride in the front seat of a car when you were six? Are you such a bad driver that you are worried about the child's safety? Why not take public transportation just to be safe and not worry about anything else? Sounds good huh?

Call the police station in your city or the DMV and ask. I think it is legal if no airbags are in the front seat. Still I would call and ask.

Children under the age of 12 are at risk of getting their necks broken by the airbag.

It's illegal! She needs to be in the back seat until she is 12.
