My sister-in-law recently bought a book about Wicca by this author. Does she know what she's talking about? Is there a particular author who you consider the most accurate?

I couldn't answer this for her because I know next to nothing about Wicca.

She is an established and well thought of author and Wiccan. She has recently published a book Utterly Wicked which I suspect will be a bit controversial. Her previous books have included offerings on Tarot, Books of Shadow, Herb and Garden and Kitchen craft, journaling, ritual, and every day magic. She has a particular style; if she suits you, great; if not, there are others.

I think rather highly of Amber K; Starhawk; Willow Polson; and many people love Scott Cunningham's books. Wiccans and pagans tell to be strongly opinionated people :0 so very favorable and harsh reviews of the same books are not exceptional among readers.

Since anything regarding religion is all about opinion, all you read should be taken with a grain of salt. IMO, reading a wide spectrum, both the best and the worst, will give you plenty to base your own opinions on. I haven't read any of Morrison's work, but the name is familiar. Other authors I'd suggest are:
Scott Cunningham
D. J. Conway
Patricia Telesco
Margot Adler
Silver Ravenwolf
Raymond Buckland
Ted Andrews
Migene Gonzalez-Wippler
Sandra Kynes

I am an Aussie Wiccan and have never heard of this author, but have stared it to let my Wiccan friends see this question.
If your Sister In Law really wants the truth~ go to the source~ Gerald Gardener or Raymond Buckland or Scott Cunningham are very reputable!
In my opinion all beginners should start with Scott Cunningham.

Thanks for watching her back~ their is so much misinformation out there!
Blessed Be
Ariel

Wicca- no.
Non-Wiccan Wiccanesque Witchcraft- yes.

the author I'd suggest first depends on your ideal tradition.

I have never heard of her. Raymond Buckland is a good author to start with.
