The gas millage rating says how many miles a car can go on a gallon of gas, so more is better. The Murano is a good car, but don't buy an early one, buy a new one, the first 2 model years or so had some trouble with the transmissions, which is all ironed out now. The only other major issue with them was an alternator problem, for which there was a recall, and is also no longer an issue. Other than that, I'm impressed with them. Nissan makes great cars, I have a maxima that is the best car I've ever owned.

The Murano is a great luxury SUV that is a little dated looking now at first the front bow of a boat look turned me off. Then almost all midsize suv's came out with that look. Now Nissan was ahead of the pack... I work for Nissan as a Master Technician so I see the broken ones. The better miles to gallon is the higher the number in your question. Most men I know would not bee seen ( Driving a V-6 SUV ) Poor Man hot rod 1988/1990 Ford Mustang 5.0 V-8 300hp , Mid class 2006 pontiac gto 6 speed V-8 400hp 2007 Porsche Caymen. Upper class Cheverolet Corvette ZO-6 500hp Mercedes AMG S class, V-10 600hp or a BMW M-6 V-10 over 600 hp. Manly cars indeed... Or big Pick Up Trucks, full size Hummers, M-1 Abrams Tanks!

The Murano aka Morono isn't a good choice anyway, it's had a lot of repair problems. The higher the number the better BTW. Something like 23(city)/32(highway) for example

the two numbers denote city mileage and highway mileage... the higher the number the more distance you can travel per gallon of gas. as for the nissan murano i believe that it is considered a crossover and not a true suv...but same difference. you may want to shop around and compare it to other makes to see what you like best... good luck at any rate

Wow, seeing that menas it's very good on mileage. It's brother, the Nissan Qashqai or Dualis, scored 36.83 out of 37 for frontal crash testing. So i guess the Murano is a strong one too. I like Murano alot, because it has the 350Z look. However, it may not be worth it to me, because the big size is worth only 5 seats.

Its OK looking but the CVT transmission sucks bad. I drove a 2007 one so I guess the problems have not been worked out. I wouldn't buy anything with that.
