I've owned dogs and I've owned cats, and both are equally lovable, friendly, and caring if you treat them with the same love, friendship, and care. I have a 14 year-old Maine coon breed of cat now, and he KNOWS when I am not in the house because he will pace back and forth among the rooms of my house looking for me until I get home. And, he's waiting at the door when I do get home. My brother has a saying--"Dogs have owners, and cats have a staff." --meaning "I'll let you pet me when I ask you to."
Maybe cats can't play fetch the frisbee or whatever, but they are anything but dumb. The sweetest noise in the world is a kitten (or even a full -grown cat) lying on your chest and purring in your ear, his way of telling you he loves you.

Cats are smarter than you give them credit for. In particular they are smart enough to stay away from you when you are an ignorant human who won't treat them with respect.
Cats can't be bribed unlike people and dogs. If they like you, it's honest. You can't throw them a piece of meat and make a friend. They are also very sensitive and when their "people" are sick they will hang very close to them and comfort them.
As far as cat worshiping goes, in ancient Egypt they worshipped Hawks, Jackels, Snakes, it was common in those days to attribute supernatural powers to animals and considering the survival instincts, agility, grace and beauty of cats, it's understandable why they did worship them. I don't know of any modern culture that worships cats.

Cats are not dumb. They are highly intelligent, inquisitive creatures. I do not worship my three cats, but I certainly care for them.

Cats are good, companionable animals when raised right, though their temperament varies by breed. For instance, if you like to cuddle, do not get a Savannah, as they don't like being held much. If you do, then get a Burmese cat, as they are very friendly and cuddly.

You should get your facts right before you bash a superior species, and their owners.

If you aren't happy here, please depart for someplace that will make you happier -- Religion and Spirituality should be right up your alley (so to speak).

I'm a cat lover, but it is I who is stupid, not my pets. They know exactly which of my buttons to push. And Lighthorse5 is right. When I have a sick headache, one of them lies on the bed with me and puts her paw in my hand. We go to sleep "holding hands."

Edit: Goofus 52
My three are 5-year-old Maine Coons, and they all play "fetch" with me if I'll throw a soft small rubber ball up the steps. They'll race after the ball as it bounces back down the steps.

Cats are able to hunt all by themselves very successfully. Can you?

Cats have insulted fur that keeps them warm in the winter. Do you?

The Egyptians revered cats for their ability to control the rodent population and ensure the survival of their civilization. What's your claim to fame?

What?? A true animal lover worships all of their animals in one way or another. I don't mean you spend your life pampering them every second, but you always make sure they are safe, warm and well fed, just like you do with your children. In a way they are like children, well mine are anyway.

LOL @ you.

The cat and the human brain are structurally similar. Cats have frontal, temporal, occipital, and parietal lobes of their cerebral cortex, as we do, and these brain regions are composed of gray and white matter, as they are in humans. And the various brain regions are connected in the same way as they are in humans and identical neurotransmitters are employed in conveyance of data.

Your logic is full of failure.
