Marriage during Muharram is not prohibited in Islam. It is the practise of shia Muslims, who prohibit marriage in the month of Muharram. Other wise there is no such a day or month or time, where islam prohibits marriage. If any body wants to get married in the month of muharram he can very well do so.

In line with hadith we have 4 months which is more valuable than other months e.g Ramadhan,Syaban,Muharram and Dzulhijjah where muslims are suggested for compulsory and optional fasting. In Ramadhan we have a compulsory fasting full month and in the 3 months we have a suggested optional fasting for several days by Muhammad pbuh. There is no prohibition for getting married in those months. In Islam in general all days and all months are good for wedding. But for the sake of respecting the fasting months we have no marriage at all on Ramadhan and a rare marriage in Muharram. It is only a tradition or habit for honouring muslims who are in fasting.
