I am not skeptical that atheists join the cult. Atheists can and sometimes do buy into emotional arguments. I am skeptical that any well read atheist has joined the cult. I have heard so many stories of ex-atheists and every time without fail when you press them on it (If you can even get them to have a dialogue with you), they know little to nothing about the arguments that show the Christian arguments to be invalid. Atheists who have not been immunized against the terroristic threats that Christianity is based on are just as vulnerable as anyone else to succumbing to the mental illness (Grandiose Delusional Disorder) as well. An ex-atheist's argument holds no more weight with me than anyone else's. Also, I would never do like Christians do and claim that the person was never an atheist.

When I was 6 years old (34 years ago) I can remember sitting in Sunday school and listening to the teacher and thinking to myself "this is SO silly!" and "You have GOT to be kidding, right?"
I am thankful that I had an 'awakening' at such an early age and that I am NOT a slave to religious bigotry, hatred, dogma and violence.
I am now 40, and I have lived a life of love, compassion and fortitude and with logic, reasoning and critical thinking and STILL live a life with morals, values and guidelines all WITHOUT the need of a god of any kind.

I'm 43. Not sure when I considered myself a full fledged atheist. Somewhere around 6th grade I realized that the religion stuff just wasn't making sense any more. Certainly by college the thought of believing in a supernatural imaginary friend who would annul the laws of physics on your behalf... just by thinking your request was clearly beyond what I considered rational.
so, over 20 years.
I"m an honest moral person that doesn't seem to need to read a bronze age text to figure out to be kind to others. (and not stone adulterers or gay people)

Here is my Atheist Testimony. I did not believe in God when I was a young, foolish, arrogant, and closed minded Teenager. I did the Salvation prayer as fire insurance in case there really was a God. By doing this prayer, I gave God the authority to come into my life. Over the next 20 years God proved to me that He was real. After I received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, God proved to me that He is the God of the Bible. Since God filled me with His Spirit{Himself}, my life has been so joyful and victorious, for He has not given me a Spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sane and sober mind. I am grateful that God has entered my body and we have become one. The cool thing is that anyone can receive eternal life here and now by turning from our sins and receiving God's Son, Jesus, as our Lord and Savior. He died in our place to pay for our sins. He is worthy of our love and devotion because He died while we were yet sinners, so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with God as our loving Father.

I was an atheist, but after having several very unusual things happen in my life I started searching for answers. In my search I have found that there is reason for a "god". I will not preach to you I feel it is for every man to find his way. If you are happy sir I wish continued happiness for you and all those around you. If you are a true atheist I am sure you have heard of Antony Flew. If not read this

Just for you religion haters, I am not a christian and never will be.
Peace and Love to ALL

Atheist for about 30 years after years of searching for truth...I have found it. Happily married, raised a fine son, we live a modest, but happy life in the country. My heartaches in life have been the loss of beloved family members. This is something we all endure. With the support of my family and friends, I have weathered these losses and look forward to living the rest of my life with a clear mind, strong sense of reason, common sense and with a strong foundation in reality.

I'm not sure what I am, but God hasn't crossed my mind in 30 years. As a result, I've had plenty of time to marry, raise a beautiful daughter who's about to graduate from medical school. She has a sense of purpose in serving the least capable of paying. I've also worked my way to the top in a technical field and retired at 50. I spend my time now tutoring at a technical school and knitting for fun.
Does this count?

I am a believer of a superior intelligence called 'Universal Energy' ( due to lack of a better name) as it is nameless, sex-less and formless.
I believe that it is impartial, non-judgmental, and un-bribable by prayers, money, promises or tears.
I believe that it being omnipresent and so is within me.
Being omnipotent does not require my support, advocacy, defence etc by -poor confused weak beings like me who can't even create an amoeba from nothing.
Being omniscient it knows everything at all times.
I believe that it is the cause and matter of all creation.
I believe that the breath it gave me is the miracle of my life; my existence and intelligence and; that this energy/ breath is what created me and is within me.
I am THE true Atheist who has no 'god' nor religion.

Used to be uber-Christian, but then realized that religion is just there to control people, so I became an atheist and seem to have the most logical perspective on religion out of anyone I know. Attributing things to 'god' belittles human accomplishment which is why I don't do it.

I used to firmly believe in God almost a year ago. I then realized how illogical religion was and am now an atheist (I will probably never revert, all of you Christians).
