Have you ever read the Bible or the Koran?

I began to read the Bible when I was 18 years old. I had a life altering experience when I encountered Jesus Christ. I was suicidal from trauma in my life. After I met Jesus all of a sudden the musty, boring, meaningless Bible became a personal favorite. Things that eluded me before began to make sense. As a believer I don't have to read the Bible, I get to read the Bible. It's not like the text books I read in school, now it reads like a riveting novel or a love letter. It's not a rule book of do's and don't's. It's a book of poetry, history, war and peace, and the most helpful advice on life and dealing with people. I've read in through at least 5 times and read some parts of it much more than that. I've been reading it since October 1971.

If you've tried to read the Bible and found it deadly dull, ask God to communicate with you through the Bible and I promise you will have a life-altering experience.

PS Don't start reading in Genesis. Start in the New Testament book, The Gospel of John. You'll find that better.

The Bible is based on very old accounts that have changed and improved faith and belief for thousands of years. Many have found a basis for living from these "biased" truths, promises and facts that give others concern and questions that one might try to seek out.

If you read the Quaran and Bible Old Testament and the Jewish Old Testament they are all almost identical. IT is miraculous that three of the major religions have almost the same beginnings. The books are not biased so much as they are incomplete. They were divinely inspired but unfortunately written by man who makes mistakes. Many other books are famous but major religions do not accept them as part of their faith tenants. You, on the other hand may incorporate anything you wish into your faith system.

Why do you say Bible isn't based on true facts? Many of the events in the Bible directly correspond to world events of the time. To answer your question, many people will say that God had a hand in keeping the Bible "famous" through the years.

As a Christian, I want everyone to know without a doubt, that all of the Bible is biased. I want them to treat it like it's biased, I ant them to know that beyond any doubt that the Bible is biased.

I am therefore biased.

I consider it interesting that the "Boy Scout Handbook" is the second best selling book of all time. Much more informative and helpful than the Bible or Quran too.
