You shouldn't eat less than 1200 calories a day! It's unhealthy. And you look worse if you look unhealthy.
By eating 1200 calories a month, you'll loose 1-2 pounds a week.

What your body does if you go on a starvation diet (and that's what your body will think 800 calories a day is), is to conserve calories because it thinks there is a famine and. So your metabolism rate will drop. It would be better to increase your activity level and stay on a well-balanced diet with a normal number of calories.

I am wondering why you want to lose ten pounds. Your current weight is near the lower end of the healthy weight range for your height (about 118 to 160).

Your body-mass index is 18.8
BMI Categories:
* Underweight = <18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9
* Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

If you weighed 110 pounds your BMI would be 17.2, which is underweight.

You are a healthy weight now. In order to maintain optimal health and fitness you should make sure that you are eating a well-balanced diet, and that you get regular weight-bearing and aerobic exercise. Congratulations on your normal weight and keep up the good work!

No. 1100 calories should be the bare minimum for someone of your age... An adult female should never consume less than 1200 calories a day, but you don't really meet those qualifications at 15 years old...

Although, I'm glad you've got a realistic understand of weightloss. You're a smart girl compared to most around here.

Keep at it, for a little longer, and eat an extra few calories every day... Keep them worthwhile though. Protein-rich foods are a great choice.

1100 calories is still a deficit of about 400 calories a day (more if you excercise) so you'll lose 10lbs in about 10 weeks.

However, why are you trying to lose weight? Your current BMI states that you're ALREADY underweight... IT would be more beneficial to TONE the muscles you aready have than lose weight... I bet most of what you think is fat, is actually undertones muscular tissue.

At that size, you're already underweight. Eating only 800 calories a day is NOT healthy. You should be eating NO LESS than 1200. And yes, your body will go into starvation mode and mess up your metabolism.

If you tried it before and weren'y hungry, I'm assuming it is because you were used to it. Your body will adjust, but with only that much food your metabolism will be extremely slow.

Well yeah you will lose weight, for a 15 year old female at 120 lb. you should eat around 1400-1800 calories per day at normal. Anything less than that would make you lose weight.

Also, if you starve yourself, you will lose A LOT of weight, but when you start eating normally you will start gaining it back because your body will begin to store the extra fat that it did not get when you were not eating.

But why would you want to lose 10 lb.? You are fine the way you are accordting to your height and age. You should be glad you are not obese or even overweight for your age and height.

Good luck!

At your age I wouldn't be worrying to much about my weight you haven't stopped growing yet. But also 800 calories isn't enough I would suggest you try 1200 a day. My doctor always told me as you get older you should eat less but since you are so young you should put a little more in. Don't starve yourself to death. Remember you are still very young and have growing too do and are also fairly tall for your age.

Your underweight. You are supposed to be 123 to 163 pounds depending on your frame. Eat 3 normal size meals a day. Don't skip meals and don't count calories. You weight is fine the way it is.

this is how i lost a crap load of weight

i made my heart beat and sweat NUMBER ONE, if you don't do that you'll barely lose weight in a timely manner

I ate whole grain cereals with skim milk, fruit juices that are 100% juice, and GORDONS FISH (salmon) microwave it 4:30 take it out cut it up, put lettuce and bagged salad with shredded 5 cheese, a little salad dressing, almond accents, peppercini pepper, mccormick salad tossers, croutons if you like them....the best dinner ever, stop in subway for lunch too for the 1.99 6 inch subs too, drink plenty of water, sleep well, be happy not worried about losing weight, feel confident and not outcasted by your body and how your body works, you'll see progress in months if not weeks
