I just started working out for track. Today was my first day of formal training and about halfway through (when I got really fatigued) the headache. It has been growing since then and now it is crazily hard to focus. I just wanna put an ice pack on my eyes in a dark cool room and forget about the world.

What exactly caused this and how do I prevent it in the future...

You probably got overheated and dehydrated, make sure you drink water or Gatorade before you start.

Take a couple Tylenol every 4-6 hours, put an ice pack on the back of your neck and lie down in a dark room.

If it happens again you need to see a physician to find out what's causing your headaches.

Feel better *hugs*

You may have gotten to hot!!! There were several people who died today that were out running etc. You must take care! My husband has had Migraines since he was 14. He is 52 now and still has them. He has taken Imitrex for years now he takes Maxalt it melts under the tongue. A change in the weather triggers one every time. Here are a few migraine tips.
Dietary factors (irregular meal patterns, missing meals, eating sweets or starchy foods, too much caffeine)
Sleep disturbances (irregular sleep patterns, too much or too little sleep)
Emotional factors (excitement, anger, fear, anxiety, stress letdown)
Environmental factors (weather changes, bright or glaring lights, loud noise, strong odors)
Alcohol (wine, champagne, beer, liquors)
Food additives (MSG and nitrates that are found in pepperoni, luncheon meats, and hot dogs)
Hormone cycles or changes (menstruation, oral contraceptives, estrogen replacement)

water water water. and make sure you have eaten properly during the day. if it happens often, see a doctor, but probably it's a water thing, maybe vitamin deficiency as well. for now, drink water, and maybe gatorade to get electrolytes. tylenol works really well for some people, excedrin pretty much always works for me, just be SURE to follow the directions, don't o.d. on acetaminophen.

feel better.

Migraines are hard to control and many things can trigger them such as stress, heat, smells, fatigue and many other things.
If it continues I would see your doctor they have great medication for migraines such as Imitrex and Maxalt

Were you drinking enough water? Often, this is a sign of being dehydrated.
