Okay, well, I have a cat that my brother gave to us before he went off to Iraq becuase his wife was pregnant. SO anyways, we took him in, and he was a really really nice cat, but he was HUGE! he's a little smaller than a cocker spaniel and bigger than a beagle. He weighs 25-27 pounds and sitting up straight hes almost 2 feet tall. Wow. If he stands on his hinds legs, he can look over the kitchen counter. Well, we look it up and he resembles a lynx or bobcat, lynxs are smaller so i think hes half. Is that possible? Hes really big, and we've had some freak accidnets. If you get him mad, he'll start growling and hissing then strike like one time i was all in his face with a hat on and he bit my face and ripped it open, his big side teeth are about and inch long, and then another time i was walkng down the stairs and lhe was fighting thru the glass door with the neigbor cat, and he saw me out of the corner of his eye and bit my foot and it was so deep i couldnt even walk.

He could be part lynx or bobcat- lynx can be 2 1/2 feet at the shoulder and 30 lbs or so, very long hind legs, longer than the front. Bobcats are roughly 20 lbs and look in proportion more like your normal cat. Both have short tails, maybe 3-5 inches.
If you give me a picture, I could pick out which one it is for you. I am interested to see what he looks like.
It sounds like a half breed of something, but it could also be part ocelot or another mexican cat, depending on where your brother got it. Lynx don't come much farther south than Canada and a bit in the northern states, while bobcats are found pretty much everywhere.
By the way- don't go bragging too much about this cat, enjoy him quietly- it is illegal to own full and partbred wildcats in most states without a permit, and your cat would be put down or forced to be given to a zoo, if they take him.

What you have is a very beautiful domestic house cat.He is large because for some reason he grew too fast.I has a simase makes your look small and his brother and mother are regular size. With the size of him itcould just be joint pain and he doesn't want to be bothered. The teeth is only thing that sounds wrong, just genetics i think. It would be very rare for a lynx or bobcat to mate with a domestic cat.But if you find out different please post again to let us know.

Lynx are bigger than bobcats, the bobcats are the small ones.
If he has a long tail, he's neither one. The lynx and bobcats also have a very distinct ruff, tufted ears with a large white spot on the back of the ears (and black on the rest of the ear on back), and their feet are much larger than a domestic cat's feet. I can't see your pictures, they won't open, so I can't comment on those.
You could have just a large cat, some of them do get pretty big.

It would help to see a picture, but I doubt that it's part lynx.Maybe part bobcat, though. Bobcats are smaller and more common than lynx, and there are cats that are supposedly half or part bobcat called Pixie Bobs, but the truth is questionable.I have a huge kitty myself, who is bobcat -like.He has a short tail, but it's because he had it injured as a kitten and lost half of it.So,I think that your cat is probably just a very large domestic cat,but you never know! Only a DNA test would tell you for sure.

Edit: After seeing the pictures,I can tell you that he's definitely NOT half bobcat or lynx. He's just a big tabby and white kitty!

Bobcats and lynx will sometimes crossbreed, but I've never heard of a lynx mating with a domestic cat. Would be very, very curious to see a picture of this animal if you can post one.
Edit - Good-looking cat, that's for sure however, I don't see ear tufts and there's no picture of his rear end to see if his tail is shorter than normal. My guess would be that he's big due to his genetics.

Lynx Point Siamese are no different then any other color point. But there are many domestic shorthair cats that are tabby(lynx) points and don't have any Siamese in them. They act like a typical Siamese - active, talkative, etc.

That is pretty posibble. For his size, he can definatly be part bobcat. I doubt if he's a Lynx, but it still could be possible. I don't think it's good to have him as a pet, though. He sounds pretty wild. No disrespect for your brother, one of our troops, but how and why did he get him? Maybe since he attacked you, you should find someone specially educated about those type of animals to watch out for him, but not get rid of him. You don't exactly want to get rid of your brother's beloved pet while he's gone defending our country, if you know what I mean!! Good Luck with your Bobcat and God bless your brother!!! P.S, Love your user name, those are my fav.!!

It is true that some wild breeds can be bred with domestic cats. The Bengal is one such pedigreed breed. I suppose, therefore, that it can happen with stray and feral domestic cats outside of pedigreed breeding programs, too, then.
"there are cats that are supposedly half or part bobcat called Pixie Bobs, but the truth is questionable"
This is the "legend" of the Pixie Bob, a domestic breed that looks wild. Genetic testing proves they have no wild blood in them.
