i want to buy a digital camera from an electronics mall in u.s. the problem is that it can only be shipped in u.s. and not to india.is there any way by which i can get the digicam from there without going there....

you probably need to ask the ele mall to do it for you but you are willing to pay extra for the shipping cost which could be quite a lot

Some sellers might ship to India but you'll have to ask them.

Something to be aware of is this: If you buy a camera from an authorized USA dealer it will not have warranty coverage in India. For warranty service you will have to ship it back to the USA dealer. You might want to ask the camera manufacturer and the seller about this.

Canon released the same camera with different names for different geographic areas. Why? To stop what is known as the "gray market". A "gray market" camera is one bought in a country with a better currency exchange rate and then imported and sold at a lower price in a country with a less favorable exchange rate. While not illegal, it is unethical because the consumer doesn't have warranty coverage.
