doesn't seem to be listed anywhere. I'm wondering if anyone out there knows where FOB Zelman or Zellman is located within Iraq.
Thanks.

I would ask your son the general area where his FOB is located ( i.e., northern Iraq, near Baghdad, etc.). Posting specifics (the exact location) borders on a security violation (OPSEC). You really don't need to know that info, and posting exact info online in an unsecured format such as this detailing where specific persons or units are located only puts the service members and their families back home in danger (retaliation/ harassment). I've seen it happen with members of my own unit. So, yes it does happen.

My husband is currently in Iraq and they will not say exactly where he is either, they only gave me a generalized location, but I am sure there is a reason for it.

My spouse has been there 3 times and each time he has never told me the exact location. They are not allowed to give their exact location for security reasons.

DO NOT ASK!!!!! this is for your son's protection. Actual Locations ARE NOT GIVEN for security reasons.

DO NOT EVER give your son's location in correspondence by email or phone, either. and it's best if you do not ever mention his full name and rank either.

He can not tell you the exact place he is.
Sorry
God Bless you and your's

OPSEC says you don't need to know that, but for your peice of mind I will say this: it's in Iraq, in one of the safer areas and it has a decent gym.

Where ever he is, it is part of hell. I pray for his safety.
Please call him back to his heavens, his home and family.
Nothing like own country.
Visit Iraq, one year after withdrawal when it is back to normal, to say "sorry".
