I'm a Christian, I have religion.
I'm going to die one day. (there are some people ging YAY at the moment, lol.) This is fact.
When i die, one of two things WILL happen. I will either go to the afterlife, or there will be nothing.
If it's nothing, what did it hurt? I live a good life. I don't do anything that will get my heart unneccessarily broken, or get me thrown in jail, or my children takne from me. I am happy.
If this is a lie, what does it hurt?
If there's an afterlife, wouldn't I feel like a jackass for living like there wasn't? Would I really want to stand on judgement day and having to admit I made such a huge mistake?
For real, if even if it's a lie, what does it hurt?

I won't know for sure until I die, that's called faith, baby. Or idiocy, depends on who you ask. I say faith.

Well think of all the Sundays you could sleep in on. That alone should be worth something.

The judgment day can be found in the book of Revelation which also claims that the earth has corners.
Revelation 7:1 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, that no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree.
I believe in many of the Buddhist beliefs.
Mostly because they have logic behind them.
"I will either go to the afterlife, or there will be nothing."
First every atom is eternal.
Second, there is no such thing as nothing. When you die (if there is no afterlife) you will fail to experience time, 15 billion (or so) years could go by and you could be a woman living on planet -composed of hydrogen- called earth.
Crap, that's what happened to you.
Your an equation Hun, equations just don't disappear from the over all problem.
What happens in the past ends up in the now.
What you think, what actions you take, effect what the world that will be like tomorrow, every second, and forever.
If you have any more questions about my theories of reincarnation slip me an e-mail.
Peace & Sernity.

Please read the wikipedia article about "Pascal's Wager" so you can understand what these people are referring to. In brief, Blaise Pascal argued that it is a better "bet" to believe in God than not to do so.
Being a Christian, having a religion is not the criteria for salvation. It is FAITH, and faith ALONE. All "works" come from faith and are "completed" by faith.
There will not be "nothingness" after this life. There will be a "choice"... of eternal life with God (a.k.a. in heaven) or without God (a.k.a. in hell). There is no "nothing."
I don't really understand what you MEAN when you say, "what does it hurt". And, what is "this" that is all a possible lie? God?
I think you will benefit from reading the "Pascal's Wager" article.
Have a blessed day.

who does it hurt?
it would take reams of pages to list the people christainity has hurt - all the victims of the crusades, the holocaust, the kkk, the witch trials.
But yeah, you go on supporting that kind of intolerance and hatred, and maybe when you're dead you;ll get to stay at the holiday inn
though if there is any universal justice, hate mongers like you will be the ones to suffer:)

As a Christian it can hurt. You don't get to give into your flesh. Of course being made a new creature in Christ makes that much easier then if you were not a new creature. There can be persecution, I see it all the time, especially from evolutionists, homosexuals and abortion rights advocates. Also if you share the gospel with others you might get evil stares, spit on or even beat up. If you live in a country such as Iran and become a Christian you might get mutilated or even killed. So yes, being a Christian can hurt. It certainly is well worth it though.
John 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

You say you want know until you die where you'll go. That's so wrong. If you think you'd had lived your life in vain when you find out different, just how would you feel when you realize there's really a God,heaven, and hell. and that's forever. I'm going to pray really hard for you. I'd like to meet you in heaven.

What if the true religion is the worship of Odin and the other Norse gods? What if your unbelief in them causes you to freeze for all eternity in Hel?
You think that religion is ridiculous, yet don't understand why we believe the same thing about your's.
If you wish to believe in the god of the Bible, be my guest. Just don't expect me to return to that belief without compelling evidence.

Yeah, and while am at it I'll collect and put teeth under my pillow. I have nothing to lose!
Edit: Besides if your god truly is just, why do we have to suck up to him because that's what praying and going to church in essence is. Is it not enough to be a good person?
