I live "Gippsland" Vic, "country". Relationship is not working. I don't have anything holding me back, I have heaps of friends but not really much family, both parents have past and brothers in another state. I'm still young and want to move somewhere fun & exciting?

Sydney is still the place for fun and excitement, although rents and the real estate market are still very high. For a good all round place I suggest southern queensland(from Coolangatta to the Surfers). I have lived in both Sydney and the GoldCoast (still do) and I find the gold coast has everything one needs like the mountains and rainforests, rivers and creeks, beautiful beaches and a great climate. There is a new entertainment centre in Broadbeach so the culteral side is here also, including bands and international artists appearing.

It is only 1 hr flight from Sydney and there are some great drives up into the hinterland or down to places like Fraser Island and whale watching!

Also the night life is great for all ages. There are always people wanting people to share accommodation if this is something you feel you could do, which would also give you an insite into the area without you making a huge committment in the first instance.

Good luck with whatever choice you make

Forget Darwin, it is really just a large town and very isolated from the rest of Oz. You will never get to see anything. Perth is lovely, but also isolated from the rest of Australia. Brisbane is now a city but certainly does not have the metropolitan feel of Sydney and Melbourne. If you want to live near the coast and have pretty good weather for a lot of the year, you are best to look between Sydney and Brisbane as other people have said. The rural areas around Melbourne are beautiful, but the coast is not quite the same. On a map, start at Sydney and follow the coast up to Brisbane. Coffs Harbour is beautiful as is the Gold Coast Hinterland and everywhere in between. I grew up in Melbourne and now live in Brisbane and if I could, I would move anywhere from Coffs Harbour to Gold Coast Hinterland (Mt Tamborine). I don't think you would be disappointed!

I understand what you I come from the SouthEast of SA and felt the same way, I moved up to Adelaide and haven't looked back, city will let you be yourself without the insular country environment and you may even find after that you wish to go back to the country anyway

It depends on howmuch money you have too spend on a house or to rent

Mosman in Sydney is a lovely suburb with no bogans or drunk people out at night. Melbourne is good too but the beaches are crap, Brisbane is good but alot of people go partying at night

i live in Sydney but have family in those two citys and have been to visit them.

Sydney is a great city for all ages but it is extra special if you are young.
