My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost a year. He's a whole half foot shorter than me though, and he's very self-conscious about it. I'm comfortable with it, but with things like greeting him...I think it embarrasses him for me to try to come up and bend down and hug him. He comes up to me a lot though and just squuezes the heck out of me (in a cute way i mean-makes me feel good). On days he's feeling down though and I want to greet him in a nice way and make him feel better, what am I to do? He had a death in the family recently and he's been suffering from it. What can i do that won't embarrass him that he'll be comfortable with? Is there anything?

Oh yeah, and if it matters any, we're both 16.

I once dated a girl who was taller than me, and every time, I'd just pick her up and spin her around. And I usually threw something in to tease her like "you may be out-growing me, but I'm still stronger!" Made things much less awkward and more fun. don't know if that really helps you though...

Give a broad and friendly smile and exclaim across the crowded hallway, 'hail ! half man!' and then when you're closer, rub the back of your neck with a grimace.. after all, it hurts craning it down to look at him so often! Good luck!

Hug him good, wrap him up tight and don't let go until he wants you to.
