If it were up to me, i would buy the Ford (and i did). But, you are going between a Tundra and a Silverado.... i would take the Silverado.

I didn't know about today, but when I was shopping trucks in 2002, the Silverado was WAY more expensive than the Toyota, so I opted for the Toyota, and have 90,000 trouble free miles on it.
The NEW 5.7 liter Toyota has like 385 H/P, which should be plenty. THAT would be MY choice.
I previously owned a '92 GMC, (same as a Silverado) racked up 200,000 miles with no problems other than rapid wear on the tranny from towing.

I would definitely buy the Tundra. It has plenty of power, lots of capability, very comfortable, which is all true of the Chevy as well, but the Tundra is also extremely reliable. I know that after 50K miles I wont have to start worrying about when the major problems are going to start, like I would with a GM product. I really like GM's, but Toyotas are really built to last.

The Tundra is a rather ridiculous truck: Gigantic, bulbous, with an overbuilt driveline (I shudder to think of long-term maintenence costs) and an engine that suffers from the utter dead weight of overhead camshafts (why in the world would a truck need OHC, anyway? They don't have to rev high, and it basically rules out using a fuel-saving multi-displacement system). The Silverado is a much more balanced, reasonable truck....much better gas mileage, too, thanks to the afore-mentioned multi-displacement system.
The Dodge Ram is also worthy of consideration. Bottom line, save the Tundra for the automotively ignorant "Toyota can do no wrong" crowd. Let them suffer with it.

I would chose the Chevy any day of the week. Toyota builds vehicles based on the size of the average Japanese person. I am larger than that, and the seats and interior layout in the Toyota are not made for a "normal" size American Male!!

The Tundra looks much better than the Chevy plus it's probably cheaper too.

Get the Tundra. It's built much better and will run forever compared to the American equivilent (I would expect to get about 250,000 miles at least). And if you feel that you need to support americans, you should be happy to know that the Tundra is built in the USA too.

Depends on what you use it for... If you want a daily driver get the 1500 Silverado, cause its not too bad on gas and comfy, but if wanna good work and daily driver truck get the 2500 Silverado with the 6.6L Duramax diesel, its really good on fuel for its size and a hell of a worker. The Yota is overpriced and it's iForce 5.7L engine is terrible on gas... But its your money my friend...I'd look at the new F-250's, theyre better than both
