I am underweight and need to gain weight soon. What foods can I eat to gain the quickest? Any ideas will help. Please?

And please don't tell me to go to my doctor because he just tells me how to lose it and he sent me to a dietition and I lost 5 pounds instead. I weigh only 75 pounds and I am pretty tall.

Hi,
I'm in the same boat (sort of...I exercise like a crazy person and need to put on weigt so am eating like a horse!). Casically eating good carbs/protein and good fats (avo, nuts etc) is being recommended to me as the way to go. If you exercise, it's good to eat within half an hour of ur workout, opt for a high gi (like a white bread sandwich) to help repair ur muscles and replenish energy more quickly. Spread it with peanut butter for extra protein. As for ensure - yeah - it is expensive, so I go with sustagen or sustagen sport - it's pretty nutritionally complete - tastes alright too! Snack between meals (you should be eating a big brekkie, morning tea, lunch, arvo snack, dinner and supper) on substantial foods like sandwiches, smoothies (u can use low fat milk and yoghurt), yoghurt topped with fruit and muesli, cereal and milk (yum!), cheese and wholegrain crackers, salads (with hearty stuff like corn), wraps, milkshakes, muesli bars (watch out for unhealthy ones tho - go for low in sat fat and sugar) or make ur own healthy muffins. eat foods high in protein and carbs. Chicken and steak. if you are working out at all take a protein shake a couple times a day just be carefull you dont want to get sloppy

Drink Ensure !, one can twice a day ,for a week ,and then check your weight,dont use too much . It will make you fat ,w/long term use.
