Hmm.. The kid is interested, yet he is too immature for a relationship.
My advice... Just stay away. Leave him be, or just don't get so connected, if you still want to talk to him at night..

If you talk on the phone at night and he is nice, he likes you as a friend, and he trusts you. I'm sure you talk about things you wouldn't in school or in front of certain people, so yea. If he is mean in school, maybe he wants to hide the fact that you guys actually talk because he is shy for some reason, or isn't telling you something you may need to know. Another thing may be because he is embarrassed to talk to you as if he were on the phone with you in front of friends because maybe they don't like you or will make fun of him if they knew he talked to you, no offense.
This is all what I think though, so I hope I helped even a little.

This can depend on his age. Because he is younger (still in school), he is probably dealing with a lot of insecurity. Know that his true feelings are showing on the phone when you are talking alone. You might try interacting at school away from other people.

He likes you but he's still trying to "be tough" in front of the guys. I wouldn't take it the wrong way unless he is very mean and rude. And maybe you should just ask him how come he does that. Then maybe he'll stop...

Also that he's super nice 2 u on the phone cause he know no 1 can see his feelings 4 u (On phone)

It means he's an idiot and you shouldn't waste your time with him. He obviously doesn't care enough about you if he's only nice to you in private but then treats you like sh** in public. If you allow this farce to continue, you're sending the message that it's ok for him to treat you that way. It's NOT! Don't put up with it! Tell him that he either treats you nicely in public the way he does in private, or else you're not interested in talking to him anymore!!!

At school, there are other people around and he's either trying to show them that he's too cool to like someone, or he's afraid of what they will say.
Sounds like he is young and still just a confused boy.
He may grow up one day.

He's a player and just wants to talk to you to feel like a pimp. He's mean at school because he's probably embarassed to be seen talking to you or something... guys can be jerks.

and maybe it's one of those things where he's more confident on the phone like seeing you and being with you makes him nervous just think of how you friends ;) act aroung the guy I mean guys they like...

he's a male. Males have an image to uphold in front of his "guys" and you will rarely see his tender side in front of his friends. Have you seen the movie Grease?
