One theological view is that Christ is present within all human beings. Since criminals are human beings, Christ is there within them. My church teaches that Christians are to minister to prisoners, the sick, and the homeless as if we were ministering to Christ Himself. I'm glad that people thought to help, visit, and minister to me when I was in jail.

By not passing judgement upon him and knowing there are probably some really bad tragedies that brought him or her to that place in their lives.

Even some very "good" people can find themselves a criminal because everyone has an endurance and pain threshold. If life is painful enough for long enough, (especially if unwarranted) even a very "righteous" person may lash out in some way and become a "criminal"...

Jesus understood what people deal with in this fallen world. He knew many criminals, sinners and outcasts. He knows what it is to feel the pain of scorn, that's one reason why I believe He was around those kinds of people often. He is extremely understanding and we should strive to think likewise.

Because, as the famous saying goes: "There only by the grace of God go I."

You don't have to find Jesus in a criminal. Be thankful that the criminal found Jesus.

Well, dear one, I think it all depends on what that Criminal believes, in regard to Jesus. Two criminals hung on a cross beside Jesus. One recognized Jesus as the Son of God, the other didn't. Jesus saw Jesus in the one criminal - me too.
.....the answer is in the heart.

Hi, Jesus was crucified with two criminals (Book of Luke), one on the left and one on the right. One mocked Jesus, the other believed in Jesus and was saved. An illustration of Jesus and two types of sinners, those who receive Jesus as their Saviour, and those who never do.

You can find Jesus in the crimanals heart if He was born again. If the criminal wasn't born again, all you will find is satan. That's why we shouldn't judge because we do not know for sure what is in the heart.

Jesus did not come to save the perfect. Sin is sin to God and what the sin is doesn't matter. Even the worst person can change and turn away from their offenses.
Which does not say they don't deserve to pay the price for what they have done...
