It is simply a "kick". A kick back is when a person takes money for a referral or recommendation ie... I am a realtor and if I had a client who recommended someone to me and then gave them $100 for the recommendation then that would be a kick back or if I recommended someone to another professional and got a financial benefit that too would be a kick back. Recoil is proper terminology but kick is most commonly used.
