Dr. Everett Koop separated Pamela and Patricia Schatz joined at the buttocks.It was the first separation operation done at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1957.

Pamela, dies at age of 9 following open-heart surgery; Patricia, survived.
