I have been doing really well with my new vegetarian diet aside from some unexpected set backs like hidden animal products in ketchup! but my big problem is snacking at night! i don't know why i do it...i try so hard not too but i end up doing it and most of the time is because the munchies. i know alot of people just say stop but i need some other tips. maybe am i not eating enough fiber or protien too keep me filled up? i try to stop myself and i'm doing ok, i'm losing two pounds every week.

make sure that you are consuming enough calories in the day time. make sure to drink plenty of calorie free liquids, the 8 glasses a day is the bare minimum for the sedentary individual.

there is nothing wrong with eating at night but food items should be either protein based or vegetables. this keeps serum insulin levels low and stable so fatty acid oxidation is maximized.

I've found that I can not keep my self from snacking so I gave up, BUT i only eat snacks that are reasonably good like a handful of raisins or fruit or marshmallows, it sounds strange but marshmallows are the perfect diet food because they satisfy that sweet tooth but have no fat and fewer calories than chips or cookies. As for hidden animal products, wait till you start reading soup labels, they put chicken broth in vegetable soup! and forget about most restaurants, salad (no bacon), potato skins (no bacon) get used to saying it
