there are few different sorts of capers and they vary in strength when it comes to flavour. Salted or in vinegar!!! If your unsure and are still getting use to there flavour go for the ones in vinegar, there less potent and heaps more subtle for the beginer. As for the salted they are beautiful, but make sure you rinse them first and add them to your salads, pastas, antipesto's to mayonaise with chips etc.... versatile little critters

Capers add great taste to foods. I use small capers for just enough flavor without being overpowering.

My grandmother LOVES to cook with small capers. She swears by them, in fact. It does make a difference to the taste of her cooking overall. She's a fantastic cook.

And Anchovies, and Oysters, and caviar, and wicked hot spices... but I didn't know there were different size capers..?
Try this vile experiment: one pickled grape leaf, a row of oysters, some capers, some hot spices, some blue cheese, sprinkle with parmesan, roll it up, and more parmesan, some wine vinegar, and what ever else you can think of.. then bake it slow... It'll probably knock your socks off if you like it... On the other hand, if you don't like it it'll probably make your bum fall off...

love but have to be used correctly. large or small doesnt make much difference to me. i believe smaller capers are stronger in flavor.

Love them! I tend to have the small ones on hand the most - I just think they're more versatile for most dishes. They taste the same, but the smaller ones are a little more subtle in most dishes. I tend to use the larger ones in pate's, dips, and recipe's that I mash them in.

i love capers..big or small is fine with me especially when i eat them with smoked salmon..yummy!

I love them, as does my six year old. The small ones are great in pasta dishes!
