2000 years ago it would have been heresy to deny the existence of Zues, Athena, Rha, etc. etc. Today, people look at these religions as archaic, myth, and good read for English class. In 2000 years, as religion continues to evolve (change), what will the new god(s) be like? Will Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and other religions PROBABLY evolve? Will these changes be for the better or worse?

Of course religion evolves... Christianity and the bible's origins are spread all over the globe over thousands of years. Bits stolen from mythology, other religions, and who knows where else.
There is historical evidence of parts that didn't make the evolutionary cut. They're called the Apocrypha... another bit of evolution that Christians deny.

Silverback,
The purpose for us to be on this planet is to grow spiritually.
Along with that,we are to "evolve" as human beings. Religion can evolve if the people in the said belief, can learn not to take things as "status quot". But for the most part, religion has a hard time evolving. But If you where to look at...well lets say the old and new testaments. (just keep an open mind about this) In the old
we were given guide lines and rules to live by. We where at a point where we need this structure to guide our lives. In the new..... we are shown that we are capable of living from our hearts and "spirit". In doing so we know we do not need the rules, because in our heart and spirit, we will do what is best.
You have to keep in mind, that all religions are correct and at the same time incorrect. Life is not about religion. Life is about being in spirit and realizing that we (and every thing else) are all one.

Great question. Yes it does evolve, and religion is in a state of change right now. There are a lot of new ideas out there, and and a lot of the old beliefs are being defenestrated. Changes are for the better, but there are always whackos out there who put some weird twist on things.

"Religions are not revealed: they are evolved. If a religion were revealed by God, that religion would be perfect in whole and in part, and would be as perfect at the first moment of its revelation as after ten thousand years of practice. There has never been a religion which fulfills those conditions." — Robert Blatchford, "God and My Neighbor," 1903.

Yup, human beings replace it up each of the time to extra healthful society, like even as they tried to moralize slavery with the bible and, properly, you do not see every person stoning one yet another because the bible says so anymore. besides the undeniable fact that this is not any longer evolving quickly sufficient, this is not any longer excepting gays and one faith telling each of the others they are going to burn continually it is making society reject it. At this p.c.., this is going to pass extinct. those extra excepted by utilizing society will proceed on.

that is the exact problem with religion~ that it doesn't evolve...or at least not fast enough to do us any good
life is change, therefore, our beliefs must be allowed to grow along with new perspective and understandings
the core Truth that rings through all religions does not need to change- what needs to change is our perception of it

Doctrine subject to any evolutionary notion is not truth, but part of the mist. Truth stands and is unchanging.
